I am not doubting you, but before I order a 16" Sugi for my MS290 and a 20" Sugi for my MS461, I want to know what I am getting and that stock chains will work.

So again, there are a few folks in this thread that have said their stock chains didn't work, either too long or too short depending on the length of Sugi bar they purchased, and yet some of you are saying the DL are the same across Stihl/Sugi bars. It sounds like a crap shoot for some reason.

So one thought I have, is that Stihl sells their bar as a 25" yet Sugi sells it as a 24". Is there truly a 1" difference? Yet both bars say they take 84DL chains.

Well i tested this problem again. I let the chain get dull, and it immediately gets grabby in the cut, bogs down, and then the chain gets loose again in no time. I still don't think this is correct but it certainly seems it is tied to the chain being dull. Does this still make sense to you guys?

Then why is the primary US Dealer of Sugi telling me I can't use stock length 84DL Stihl chain, and that I will have to have 2 links removed to fit the 25" Sugi bar ?

So I understand that if I order any of the Sugi Hara Bars say in 16-25", that stock Stihl RS chains won't fit as they are about 2 links longer than what the Sugi Hara bar uses. Is this correct, and if so, what brand and size chains do you guys get? I remain confused on this. The 25" Sugi Hara...

I am using the orange jug Stihl bar oil. I guess this is ok for the MS461 ?

Well there Mr. Clemson, remember the MS461R comes with a HO oiler that the regular MS461 doesn't have. My manual even talks about it, and it gives specific instructions that if you turn the HO oiler all the way up, that you should only fill the gas tank half way as the bar oil tank will empty...

Where is this limiter located at? I tried again and the oiler adjuster screw in the bottom of the saw only turns 1/4" and then stops.

Yep seems to be doing well. I cleaned it up and re sharpened it just now and dropped the chain to let the saw cool down. Apparently the boss wants to go out to lunch to make her happy. So I will pick this work back up this afternoon. Planning on finishing about 10 very large rounds out front...

I know, did you notice my smiley face? I will be noodling in the next 30 minutes. Can't wait. Dang all this rain over the last two weeks. Time to dig out the new chaps and gloves and go run this bad boy.

Hey that is what the manual says to do. It says flip the bar at every other time you fully sharpen the chain or swap chains. :)
