346XP needs replaced....it's at 90 PSI, what saw is comparable today?

A man needs 8 or 12 or more saws because men need to collect things. Some collect beer bottles that they emptied, some collect women, some collect heads of animals, and hang them on the wall. some collect cars. I used to collect old fishing reels, and the one woman that I collected always...

why husky saws are cheaper than stihl? an honest question

In responding to the question from the original post. Stihl dealers are not allowed to cut deals of saws, if you're lucky they may knock off a few % and say the saw is a demo. Husqvarna dealers can sell a saw for pretty much what ever they want to. Husqvarna also allows online sales where Stihl...

just ordered 2 ms660 china chain saw from china 15 days a go will get them epacket from china

This thread caught my intrest, as the Chinese have taken over most of the worlds manufacturing with their low priced products. I'm not saying China can't make high quality products, just look at their fighter jets, ships, spacecraft, nuclear, and biological weapons. As Americans, we are...

Talk me out of an Echo CS620P.

I have a Shindaiwa 600sx, it's the same as a Echo 620. Took out of box, removed muffler restriction and pulled limiter caps off carburetor. I don't care about warranty. Almost as strong as my hotrod Jonsered 2260. Should get better when it breaks in. It weighs a little bit more than the 2260...

    Where to get yellow/silver birches?

From the original post I was under the impression you were looking for trees to plant. I now understand you are looking for logs. Yellow birch is common in northern Michigan and other great lake states. I don't know where you live, but Michigan is full of loggers that would be happy to sell...

    Where to get yellow/silver birches?

I know of two suppliers in Michigan that grow and sell them. Alphanurseries.com in Holland Mi. and Coldstreamfarm.net in Freesoil Mi. They should both be able to help you out if you are looking for betula alleghaniensis. We call it yellow birch in Michigan.

    Anybody collect anything besides chainsaws?

I used to collect old fishing reels. Some cost $2.00, some cost $50.00. My wife always complained that I was wasting money and never went fishing anyway. So I started collecting chainsaws, big, new, Husqvarna XP chainsaws. One day she said "maybe you should collect fishing reels" and...

    Chainsaw Chain types

A chisel chain is good for cutting trees down. A semi-chisel is best for cutting trees up. Try them both and you'll understand, and neither is worth a damn if it's dull!!!

Advice on starting a couple of white oaks (Quercus alba)?

Mz, check coldstreamfarm.net in northern Michigan. They sell small quantities retail, and ship in the fall. Plant them, water them in good, put trunk guards or screen around them to keep the animals away and mulch heavily. They will grow with no problems. They also have swamp white oaks (Q...

Problem with a Seckel pear tree

Be very careful with copper, if you don't know what you're doing you can burn all the leaves off the tree, russet the fruit, and even kill the tree.

    Chain just wont cut

I think I know why your buddy gave you this chain.

Problem with a Seckel pear tree

Blast it with Captan when you see 1/4" of green coming out of the buds, and within 48 hours every time it rains hard until the fruit is 1 1/2" long. Cleaning up the scab intested leaf litter under the tree helps to remove it from the area.

Been dying to buy a new saw

It sounds like you keep your saws for a long time. I would stay away from anything that has a plastic crankcase(311,391,460). I just bought a Jonsered 2260 (Husqvarna 562) from a sponsor on here (Left Coast) for $575 (power head). It's an awesome saw!!!!!! Just a little too quiet and smooth...

Not sure if correct thread- Help with spring weeds?

I would hit them with 2 4 D, it's cheap and very effective on just about all broad leafs. Tractor Supply sells it. It won't touch your crabgrass though.

    Jonsered 2152 Hot

Does it have a catalytic muffler. If it's plugging up it would have those symptoms and could be the issue. Also pressure test crank seals. Check fuel system for starvation from restricted fuel filter, a plugged filter will idle fine but run lean at high rpm. or could be possible carb problem.

Need help with my setup (OWB)

The most important thing you can do with this whole equation is to SPRAY FOAM THE HOUSE. I live in Michigan also. I heat 2500 sq. ft of 120 year old farm house with hydronic baseboard heat (to 74 degrees), domestic hot water year around, 800 sq. ft. of garage, and a 28' X 6' deep swimming pool...

    Possible limb disease

I would get some budwood from it asap and graft it to another healthy tree or rootstock. If it already leafed out try rooting some of last years growth to keep the cultivar alive, then bud it to a new rootstock later this summer. Apples are very easy to bud or graft.

    splitting black tupelo

Black Gum was once commonly used for flooring because of it's toughness and durability to wear, It had very little character in the grain however, and resembled birch. I've seen it in many old houses and stores here in Michigan. It just doesn't have the wow factor of something like oak, hickory...
