    Nik's Poulan Thread

Thanks hotshot. I looked up that seal and I'm gonna order it as soon as I verify the dimensions against my old seal. I was waiting to tear the saw down until I had a line on parts. I appreciate all the good info from guys on this site.

    Nik's Poulan Thread

Hey guys. Just acquired a Poulan Super 33. It's all there and looks pretty good, but it needs crank bearings and seals. Another member helped me out with an IPL and I've located all but one seal. It's part # 1936 on the IPL. Anyone have this seal or know a suitable replacement? I don't have it...

    The Beg for Manuals Thread

Hi. Does anyone have an IPL for Poulan Super 33? Or know the part numbers for crank bearings and seals? Thanks in advance.

    Antique saw thread

Hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but does anyone have an IPL for a poulan super 33? My neighbor gave me this saw and it needs crank bearings and seals.

    Homelite Chainsaws

Hey all, I have a blue sxlao that needs a clutch cover. Have only been able to find red ones. It's the original lighter homelite blue, not the special edition "ol' blue" which is darker. Any leads would be appreciated. Faded, worn, and chipped is fine. It's an original paint saw, just want one...

    PP4218A cylinder swap

I was thinking that this cylinder would solve the toasted P&C issue that is so prevalent in these saws. Don't these saws come from the factory with the unplated cylinders? Or were there some each way? I know there are several model variations. Are you pretty confident the two pistons are the...

    PP4218A cylinder swap

I've got a couple Poulan Pro 4218's with toasted cylinders. I don't have any money in them and was thinking about putting a piston and cylinder on the av model. The info I'm finding shows a plated and an unplated cylinder with matching unplayed and plated piston. Does anyone know if I can use...

    Homelite Chainsaws

I had already checked the boot, but checked it again on the second teardown. Absolutely no tears, cracks, or pinholes, but I wasn't convinced that the plate that holds it and the reeds down was sealing against the boot. So I made a gasket to put between the plate and the boot. Not sure if that...

    Homelite Chainsaws

I pulled the flywheel and points were at .019". I cleaned them and set to .015". I didn't have a meter to check the condenser, but it looked good with no damage to the lead. Put it back together and after several fights with the Fairbanks Morse starter the spark looked the same. Now it will run...

    Homelite Chainsaws

OK Gonna take it apart this weekend and check points, condenser, and flywheel key. Thanks for all the advice. I'll post results.

    Homelite Chainsaws

Usually just pops. Sometimes hits 5 or six strokes and never hits unless the throttle is locked open. Plug gets wet easy. That could be a carb issue, but I'm thinking more and more that I have an ignition issue.

Tested open air with plug out.

    Homelite Chainsaws

Fuel line and filter are new. I've tried several settings on screws, but this saw won't even pop consistently on a prime. Initially I was convinced I had an ignition problem, but with plug out and a tester gapped about .040" hooked to plug wire I get consistent blue spark. I've seen ignition...

    Homelite Chainsaws

I started working on a C7 that I traded for a couple weeks ago. The saw will pop but never runs more than half a second. I figured carb problems so I ordered a kit for the tillotson. Last night I took the carb down and cleaned and kitted it (although it looked great inside). Same issue. Pops...

    Homelite Chainsaws

The hole is open and clean. Guess I need to dig deeper into the carb. I haven't pulled the long thin Welch plug yet.

    Homelite Chainsaws

No problem. I just wish I could get it to run right. Thanks for the clarification. That's similar to the diagram I found on the internet.

    Homelite Chainsaws

An update on the 330. Put the second diaphragm in on the pump side the way it came apart. Didn't change anything. Saw idle goes lean if I turn the saw upside down. Looked for air leaks and found a small hole in bottom of casting where reed block mounts. It looked like it was factory, so I...

    Homelite Chainsaws

That's what I thought, but today I looked up zama c1s on internet and found an exploded view showing both diaphragms on the pump side in the order they were in my carb. I put it together with just the normal pump diaphragm and gasket and it won't tune right. Acts lean coming off throttle, then...

    Homelite Chainsaws

I've been putting my 330 back together. Bought a used crankcase assembly after discovering a scored piston and cylinder. Changed all the lines, inspected the reeds and carb. boot. Took the carb. apart and pump side was full of trash. I had a kit for it, but found something that puzzles me. It's...
