    Husqvarna 130-First Look

Thank you. I looked at the ipl. There appears to be a wound wire behind a washer behind the clutch that acts as a gear to drive the pump. It isn't clear how the wound wire is being driven. Here's a pic. Someone smarter than me can probably figure it out.

Did the question about the oil get answered? Is it crank or clutch driven?

    Aspen Fuel?

Nice necro thread. $825 would pay for a lot of repairs due to ethanol. Kind of a valid point. Is this stuff available at B&Q and Tesco or primarily through lawn equipment dealers? Seems that would determine who it's being marketed to. Premixed fuel has one advantage for pros. You'll never...

To buy or not to buy

Your pics are sort of useless. How does the bar, the front and the bottom look? From the recoil plastic, it looks hardly used. If that was sitting on the shelf here, I'd pull out a scrench and pull the muffler to inspect the piston and cylinder. What are they going to do? Tell you to stop...

    Some MS193T questions

Where do I order? Kidding. Thank you for the info. Good to know if I need to order parts online. I had no idea they updated anything other than the outlet hole on the muffler. Info on this model is hard to find.

    Some MS193T questions

Good information. Thank you. Is it the stud mount adapter or that plus the actual base that are different? My kids have some squishy sheets of closed cell foam for projects. I might try to roll my own gasket for the stud

7.3L IDI Finding lift pump problem

Glad to hear it. If your truck doesn't burn oil, you should still check it regularly (this applies to most engines with a mechanical fuel pump). One of the rare failures is the diaphragm to fail where it fuel islowly pumps furl into the crankcase. Love my 86

    Some MS193T questions

Thank you very much for the information and taking the time to take pictures. She doesn't leak once put away. I just have to remember to grab old pants if I'm using this saw. It looks like there is a foam grommet on the air filter stud. Is that factory? I can almost read enough of those...

    Some MS193T questions

I pulled the rear cover and air filter to change the sparkplug and this is what it looked like underneath. Is this typical for the air filter on this saw or do we have a problem? She's been dropped on her bum at least once and the filter and cover were replaced after that. The newish cover...

    Bar oil jug

If you drop your gallon bottle just right, you'll end up with a pour spout, vent hole and an adult proof cap.

7.3L IDI Finding lift pump problem

That's the way they are. Last one I bought has a paper insert. This one (drawing of new one) replaces this one ( drawing of old one). Make sure you get the arm under the cam or you'll be buying a new pump. Make sure your mechanic replaces any olives (vibralock seals) that he had to disturb...

I got the Makita 6401 upgrade itch.

You have a point. I'm thinking of ordering up the parts and pieces for this and losing them in my garage. That shouldn't be too hard. I should probably put together a list of wear items and order those too. Someday, parts will be hard to get. Fuel line. Impulse line. Carb kit. Clutch. Oil...

I got the Makita 6401 upgrade itch.

Put a list together and the vendor you go with. We can both upgrade saws that done need it. I'll need a muffler and the attachy parts for it too to get rid of my cat muffler.

Decent price for machine sharpening service?

Sharp is sharp only if it cuts. If it doesn't cut because the rakers are high, the customer isn't going to be pleased. If he comes back, he'll have it fixed in his mind the chain isn't sharp. I wouldn't offer to only sharpen the teeth.

Decent price for machine sharpening service?

$8 is what the saw shop charges here to grind your chain. I haven't asked for more details as I file my own. Tree services hand them a dozen chains at a time. I'd imagine with a good machine that's an hour or two of work.
