Those and solar arrays popping up all over the place in the Hudson Valley and it's awful. I have many associates who are environmental advocates (they won't use chainsaws but they are fine with me doing the cutting for them) who do not accept the visual obstructions, the mining for scarce...

This tree service is out of the Lake Katrine, NY (or maybe Kingston or maybe Saugerties) based on their web site. They did a job down near the Pepacton Reservoir earlier this year. Any of you guys familiar with this stretch of road? The shot on the thumbnail looks like Rte 209 between Kingston...

A friend of mine owned the bar/restaurant where scenes from the movie Tootsie were filmed. He used to run a contest encouraging people to bring in live snapping turtles from which big pots of turtle soup was made. While technically legal, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation asked...

My concerns about the snappers were calmed this afternoon when I spotted this frisky pair while surveying the trail for maintenance issues... A snapper only a snapper could love... 😍

With a break in the rain and some discretionary time Saturday we took a walk ahead of my grandson's birthday dinner... We saw this guy on the newly built out rail trail. That section of trail was single track for 40 years and now it's blacktopped. I saw a lot of wildlife there over the years...

The guy who often works with me cutting trees on the rail trail had the same thing happen to his beater truck. He patched it with fiberglass mesh and epoxy... a few months later it started leaking again. Upon researching the situation he discovered that the temperature range for the epoxy he...

Guess they can make Lincoln Logs out of it... The one's I got for Christmas in 1962 are redwood. My kids played with them (along with the 100s of additional ones I made from white pine) and my grandsons will be playing with them in the coming years. The red wood ones are nicer than the pine. 😉

Anybody need a MIG welder... One on Nextdoor... must be a deal. An old Harbor Freight ad suggests otherwise

Some of the manufacturers recommend soaking trimmer line rolls/spools in water to keep it supple. Recommendations seem to run from a few hours to overnight and from once to occasionally. Apparently dried out line doesn't always lay out straight at speed and is somewhat brittle and prone to...

I can ask if any exist in his achieves.... now in the custody of a mutual friend. Unfortunately he passed away so I cannot ask him himself. I tried to find that particular ad on YouTube but it's not there with other old Sears ads. At least that I could find.

Here's one for you bicycle, car, women's tennis fans... My many decades long friend owned a bicycle shop. In the early '80s he was commissioned to make a 5 passenger bicycle for a Sears Roebuck television commercial. The commercial was to feature women's tennis champion Yvonne Googlagong...
