I have a 562xp and just picked up a new 550xp. I plan to use both of them until they are no longer serviceable. Just kinda wondering if it would be wise to stock up on the most common wear parts.

Is anyone else worried about husqvarna parts availability seeing has how they have been closing domestic factories? Just wondering if I should try to stock up on some odds and ends. Thanks, Steve

So, would the 3690 chain be the narrow kerf stuff I'm looking for? I thought I remember seeing that there was a difference between the 23rs and the 23rsp (p for pro)...or something like that. There is so much chain info out there, it's hard not to get lost in the minutia.

I've been looking around and it seems like the Stihl 23rs pro chain might be the way to go for a 550. Where does everyone find it? I'm not having a lot of luck finding it online. It'll be 72 links, but I wouldn't mind finding a bigger spool and making my own...

Yeah - that's kinda what I was thinking. Dammit. The $699 sticker scared me, so I opted for the 545. I was in a hurry to get back home and catch the kids getting off the bus...had I taken 10 seconds to think about it at the shop, I would not have posted this. I'll prolly exchange it tomorrow...

Picked up a new 545 MK2 today...has not seen a drop of fuel. Sorta' having buyers remorse that I didn't pay the extra $60 to get the XP. This saw is for downing trees and bucking logs in a non-professional setting. For bigger stuff I have a 562XPG MK1. For limbing I like using my echo CS400...

I kinda figured that. Not a pro saw, 60cc when it should be 65, etc. I have it on C.L. also. I'll keep ticking the price down until she moves. I had a 391 a while back that I sold to my brother. Makes more sense to me than the 311.

I'll do that now. Just need the handle/tank assembly.

Now I just need to clean these up. The 270 will need a new handle/tank. The 311 just needs a little cleaning. Any suggestions on where to source parts and how to thoroughly clean a saw?

Hi folks, I'm about to pick up each of these saws on the used market. My intention is to flip them and fund the purchase of a Husky 545 or 550. The 270 is a little worn, the 311 is in good shape. Anything I should be watching out for?
