:
the mark II 550 runs superb ....it will definitely ( compete ) with the 261cm it is a little heavier ..but it's like a rabid little beaver....don't think husqvarna had any intension of keep weight down, only building an excellent saw... and it is ....;)
I hear ya its just that the...
I have two decent stihl dealers close by and 0 actual husqvarna dealers. Lots of places to buy husqvarna but no real support. That said I just can't get used to stihl saws and haven't had great luck with them when I tried so I take my chances with husqvarna. Really bummed that they couldn't keep...
So I bought a battery saw because reasons :)
It takes 3/8-52 .043 chain, my ? is does anyone make NON low kickback chain that size? I've looked at the Oregon site and no luck, looked at local hardware stores (stihl) and no luck. Am I stuck with low kickback chain for this saw?
Thanks
I think 3/8 is a great idea but I'm probably in the minority here. A 4 hp saw should spin 3/8 - 20" well enough. My old 257 is (I think) 3.5 hp it does fine with the 20" bar it came with.
Just here for info. Was looking into either a 550 or 261 last fall, got a great deal on a 562 that I love but I'm still thinking about one of those two. On paper the 261 has more hp for the same weight but I really like the feel of the 550.
562
That doesn't sound too hard.
I spent today clearing a site for a cabin. Way overgrown. The saw ran great but I was wishing it was a little lighter!
Luckily we don't have tons of ticks in my neck of the woods but I had one of those on me 2 years ago, screamed like a girl! The thought of not being able to eat meat scares me.
I don't know how you guys in the heavy tick areas deal with it!
Advice needed.
Don't know which one or if there's much dif in weight over the stock husqvarna bar. Also don't know how they hold up. It'll be for my 562xp, the stock 24" doesn't balance that well and I'm getting older every day so lighter would help!
Thanks
Mark
Saw still runs but it REALLY doesn't like to start after it sits for a couple weeks. But then it never really has liked to start after sitting awhile. Once its up and running it runs ok, probably runs good for a saw I've had since '97.
I could buy a carb rebuild kit for like $5 or a new carb...
