I want to thank everyone who replied. I successfully got the carburetor removed. Will the fuel line for the newer style 024 chainsaw work on this older model 024 av? I'm having a hard time finding the correct straight fuel line it calls for. Part# 1121 358 7705.

What's the correct way to removing that black strip on top of the handle?

That's what I was hoping someone would say because I was looking like that was what I needed to do. Is there a special way the top piece comes off? I was fooling with it some but it didn't want to come off easily so I didn't try to force it and break it. Thanks for replying.

Come to find out the chainsaw is a 023, put a 0000 400 1306 coil on it and fires right up. Thanks everyone for the input.

Bolt holes are off. The 0000 400 1300 is taller than the original coil.

The saw is at another location. I'll have to go by there and take some pictures.

Also; wouldn't a hose clamp on the intake boot be less likely for an air leak than using that plastic ring?
