i love the expansion/reservoir tank on the top! i may to steal that idea. I test fired my boiler 2 days ago and this could really come in handy, What size pipe connects the boiler to the upper tank? Are you making this a open or closed system? by the sound of the valves on the expansion tank i...

    fan control for wood boiler

looks good thank you. how are your 007's holding up? i just had to fix one in my house. The zone hadnt been used in a couple years and the impeller was stuck. Runnin like a top now. I got a 009 hoping to run all my floor off the one pump. Should have enough pressure to move it all.

    fan control for wood boiler

im going to have a thermometer on the front of the boiler so i can see what my water temps are within the boiler. i should be able to use that as a reference when setting up the blower and aquastat. Im trying to figure out where else to have a thermometer, before and after mixing valve? or just...

    fan control for wood boiler

so for this aquastat, the copper part would just insert into a well? does the aquastat have to be mounted in close proximity

    Radiant Floor slab Question

Ah ok. Makes sense. Thank you!! All my plumbing is indoors. Boiler and All so any heat loss will just escape into the heated garage. I was going to have a reserc loop on top of the boiler to keep the water in the boiler constantly moving hoping to have a more even temp within it. Have it...

    fan control for wood boiler

open system. didnt want to worry about something going wrong if my wife has to stoke it. rather have water on the floor if something happens

    fan control for wood boiler

i appreciate ur input!! my first understanding of a mixing valve was that i needed a source of cold water(hose/well water) and that mixed with the water coming out of the boiler to cool it down. It makes more sense now. lol

    Radiant Floor slab Question

NSMAPLE-- how can my return water be 140 if the water is only 100-110 for the floor?

    Radiant Floor slab Question

Im still finishing the boiler. I have been contemplating putting extra ports in for a bypass loop on it.

    fan control for wood boiler

floor is poured. garage is built and insulated. I have 6 loops in it all perfectly even in length. manifolds are sitting on a shelf awaiting install. I dont have running water in the garage yet so a mixing valve will be an issue at the moment. guess i better get the ball rolling on that too. ugh

    fan control for wood boiler

ok, its making a little more sense now. I plan on running my pump all the time. Originally i was going to run my boiler much like a wood stove and if it felt cool in the garage just add some more wood and warm it up a bit. I dont know if its "better/more efficient" to run it with a controller...

    fan control for wood boiler

ok thank you. what does the controller do? does it connect the fan with the pumps so they work in conjunction with each other?
