    Snowmobile trail saw

So I've been getting the sleds ready for the season.....If it ever snows might even get out (been dry for 65 days in a row) One of my sleds is an older 2000 Polaris Widetrak LX 500 liquid cooled I've been restoring. New camoplast powder skis and a bunch of fuel system stuff. Even mounting an ATV...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

It must be something the American Medical Association is pressing. When our first kid went in for his 1 year check up our pediatrician asked us that same question. Now my wife's in law enforcement and she told the doc she had her 9mm service weapon in her purse he about sh@@ him self. I asked...

    Christmas Present for my Son

My old man made me and my brother split 3 huge cotton woods by hand the summer I was 14 with an old maul, a wedge, and a sledge! Man a splitter woulda been nice to have back then. Course money was tight in the 80's no one had the cool tools we have now and dad was determined to make men out of...

Can a 024 super be made awesome?

Or a 346xp :chainsaw: Seriously with just a muff mod a 024S is great for what it is.

    Chinese piston/cylinder kit total annihilation.

I should of looked closer at your pic. I see that now. Had to get my readers out, turned 42 and I can't see crap up close.

    Chinese piston/cylinder kit total annihilation.

Ouch!! Were those the China Circlips? They’re junk always use new OEM Stihl or re-use your old clips. How was it running before it came apart?

Can a 024 super be made awesome?

Agreed the 353 is the winner. Better anti vibe and air filtration. Outboard clutch makes the 353 balance better (for the SawTroll) I think I mentioned earlier my 024 Super is real close power wise to the 026. My 353 has a few mods and it's a runner. I still like the handiness and light weight...

    Huztl MS660

Sounds like the rod bearing failed. You'll need a new crank. Bummer. I thought I heard a report of someone else having a rod bearing fail on here.

    Husky 345 help

Oh man that sure is a nice looking saw. First thing I'd do is make sure the cat muffler in the new saw has been swapped out. You could use the muffler from the 350'parts saw or 345. The cat makes the saw run hot and robs power. Sounds like you've got a good dealer out there.

    Husky 345 help

No brainer!! Go with the OEM 346- NE 44.3mm cylinder. The 45mm 353 set with the flat top piston don't run bad either. While you've got torn apart make sure to update the intake boot and seal up the lower end with the correct sealant. There's a bunch of threads on here about building this series...

Can a 024 super be made awesome?

If your 024 says Super on top that means it's already awesome! :chainsaw: 3.1 hp in a 44cc saw ain't half bad. I modded the muffler on mine, and it helped. The air filters on these get dirty fast. Clean or replace it and tune the carb correctly and the little 024 Super will impress with a...

    40cc chainsaw favorite for $300-$350?

My brother has one of these as his trail saw. Nice light little limbing saw. The 440 would fit the bill too.

    40cc chainsaw favorite for $300-$350?

I think I got mine there for around $300 on sale. It's been a good little saw. Feels stronger than the listed 2.8hp. The x-torq must have a broader torque curve or something. Sips gas too. I like my Husky 350's a bit better because they're so easy to mod and you can find a builder saw for...

    40cc chainsaw favorite for $300-$350?

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Stihl MS250. It's 45cc but one of the best power to weight ratios in the Stihl line up. You can find them for 300-$350 new. Might not have a real pro constitution but people swear by them.
