Trimmers - FS 94 or FS 91 options

Trimmers - FS 94 or FS 91 options

Hey sawfun: I am curious what does your shredder and knife blade look like? And what is the barrier bar. Got a pic of them. I can certainly be more protective as I can with this blade. I will have to order one of these sooner or later but think I will want to try without as we have alot of weeds...

Trimmers - FS 94 or FS 91 options

LOL Steve...I am still here. I just am undecided on what I should get. As stated I initially was gonna get the FS 94 but decide to investigate a bit more. Primary reason for this is because I want something that I can use for weeds...and forgot about the solid shaft that needs to be used with a...

Trimmers - FS 94 or FS 91 options

Last Saturday (Aug 1) I came back from a dealer and I looked at the FS Trimmers. A little about what I want. First is I have a bunch of weed growing behind my yard and inside the corners of my yard. My neighbor does too. This was a former golf course and its turned into something with trees and...

    what comparable saw to MS261?

I have two MS361 and thinking of selling one (the one with 18" bar) to get a lighter saw for more small jobs. Originally I got the MS361 used and was going to give to a old friend of my dad's but before I could get to him he had a stroke and got put in a nursing home. So I have held on to this...

has anyone hired you to cut wood?

maybe I am not clear on one thing Thanks for all of the replies. I think maybe I am not clear on one thing though. From the first post to my query...the trees were already on the ground. I think the common area behind my mother in laws (mil) house belongs to everyone so I doubt she got someone...

has anyone hired you to cut wood?

Got a question for you boys n' girls. Thanksgiving I went up to Medford, NJ for my inlaws dinner. While up there my wife said her mom hired someone to cut her wood for her. She lives in the sticks but there arew other houses around. Most of the trees appear to be some kind of pine trees. I think...

Buying some woods. How do I finance?

looks like I am late to the game anyway here goes: 2 years ago I bought almost 88ac in southern VA...not too far from Leesville Dam and SML. The taxes I pay on this property is $350/yr and I have land use taxes. I pay 50% less because my property is a timbered property. 60 ac is Loblolly...

    stihl 362

Stihl 361 Juliano, Not sure what you mean by "rate high" but 361 cures cancer and the 362 makes you cancer free LOL  Back to your question. The MS361 is an excellent saw. The 362 just comes with a strato design...I think of this as EPA emissions crap but supposedly those who have...

    sharpening chain with file

Ok...I am wondering how long a chain file lasts. I saw someone mention that they normally sharpen chains after one tankful of gas...so this is what I do. I take the file and do three swabs at the cutters. When I do this after adding gas mix and the bar oil and attempt to cut wood it seems to...

    Makita 6401 VS MS361 VS MS390

you mean trade your 6401 for a 361? I've never handled a 6401 so cannot comment on this a whole lot but I got a 361 and they cure cancer and the 362 prevents cancer :dizzy: so they say. Anyways I like the 361 and like the ergonomics of this saw. Its not too heavy but not too light and will work...

    Ms 361 hard to start

I agree with Country1 but You got to remember that not all saws will have the EXACT same procedure. Some take more pulling than others. If you look back in my post from last summer...I had problems starting and flooding my 361 but once I figure out how to tune the fine procedure...a caveman...

question on min # of acres to give you firewood

jburlingham, as one poster put it...I am setting this variable as 5 cord/yr. I know there are pretty much an infinity of variables but I should also have said this: assume that the fire stove (not fireplace or OWB) is used in the primary gathering room (living/family room) and that other...

question on min # of acres to give you firewood

Here I have a bro-in-law who asks me this, how many acres would one need to be able to sustain themselves with firewood? I know there's alot of variables in this, such as OWB/firewood stoves/fireplaces etc. But lets assume a owner needs to have 5 cords a year for himself to use for 5 or 6 months...

is this how you score a piston?

I have read numerous times folks mentioning that you score a piston by having a bad mixure of oil/gas. Is this the way you score a pistion? Are there other ways to score a piston besides having improper mixture? Just wondering...and I have never seen a scored pistion...
