Any Woodmaxx kinetic splitter owners out there?

Supersplit let me buy mine without an engine for $400 off or so. I have since made it into a Frankenstein of sorts https://www.arboristsite.com/community/threads/diesel-super-split.303723/

    Best OWB??

So funny story quite similar to CUCV's, my empyre 200 indoor gasser was bought new in 2015. Second heating season, I had to repair a leak in the firebox. Found metal sadly thin. Third year, another leak. Fourth year, another leak. This time it was in the top in the top of the firebox. I decided...

    Firebox Material thickness

My 304ss empyre 200 boiler only lasted 4 years. The Firebox was 16ga and 14ga. I repaired the first cracked weld in the second year. Granted it was mig welded and not tigg'ed like I would've done it, but I'm not sure I'd ever risk the amount of cost and time to build a 304ss boiler. 409ss has a...

Out with the old, in with the new!

It's actually 2x2x1/4 square tubing that I welded to the feet of the boiler. The one rear leg of the boiler landed inside my 3'x4' "pit" (where the lines to the house run through the shop footer) that's under the boiler. So the square tubing let's the boiler straddle the opening and not fall in :).

Out with the old, in with the new!

It certainly is built much heavier than the empyre was. My little forklift needed some friends hanging on the back to lift it haha. 8 hours after arriving back at the shop with the boiler, it's fired and warming up! Dug up some coals out of the old boiler, sparked up easy as pie We have...

Out with the old, in with the new!

I researched the hell out of it before buying and with what I learned from the previous boiler, the g200 was the best option I could find. My installation is indoor and I'm not changing it, so that eliminated quite a few options unfortunately. I also have a 6-inch chimney and I refuse the...

Out with the old, in with the new!

An empyre 200. Less than impressed with that unit after 4 years.

Out with the old, in with the new!

Only a week late, but the g200 finally arrived. Hopefully this lasts longer than 4 years before chasing cracks like clockwork. Let the fun begin!

Here's my solution for handling 28" oak rounds cut to 23" long.

biggest power on a supper splitter

It's a newer lister AC-1, if you click on the link in my signature, there's pictures of the build.

biggest power on a supper splitter

The 6.5hp lister diesel I put on my Supersplit makes ~12.5lb/ft at 2200rpm and it works fantastically. Im not running a clutch, just didn't crank down on the belt tension. In the rare occasion the ram stalls, the belts slip and motor lugs down a hare and I just hit the handle. 95% of the time it...

Will a Supersplit have any trouble with rounds cut to 18" long

Yup, same experience here. I sharpened my wedge to the best knife edge I could. When it hits a knot, it just cuts it 9 times out of 10. My usual cutting is white oak at 23.5" long and up to 26" diameter. The big guys sometimes need flipped and hit again to fully crack in half, but my diesel ss...

    Oregon Kinetic Log Splitter

Another happy Supersplit user here. 80+ full cords though mine by now. Is it the best for a twisted nasty fork/crotch? No. But I can split up 4-6 straight logs easily in the time it takes someone with a big hydraulic to break that nasty chunk up. At the end of the day, whose wood pile gained...

    85 Chevy c-30

A large set of compounds :)! I'm running a natural blower with an external bypass. It's going to be a 3" drag style gasser throttle body set to open by a regulator and mini air cylinder at about 20psi of boost. The bypass valve will by mounted on a cnc'ed plate on what's normally the airbox...

    85 Chevy c-30

I'm going 3 link air bag in the front so any suspension work is irrelevant. A 6bt and 4-53t are very similar in weight and power ratings in stock forms. If you've never driven one, a first gen 160hp 6bt is also a dog in stock form. My 4-53 will be ~450whp/900+wtq, it will run just fine with any...

    85 Chevy c-30

Thanks! It took quite a bit of hunting to find this guy. I'm going to do a hydraulic dump flatbed with front and rear air suspension over the winter if all goes well. A stock 4-53t was 185hp/435tq, so nothing terrible to scoff at. It's more than a first gen 5.9 Cummins was! The 4-53t I'm...

    85 Chevy c-30

I'm going to be swapping my 82 k30 to a 4-53t Detroit diesel this winter, it's a 454 4x4 4spd. If you want the trans, t case, and front shaft, they're absolutely for sale. Truck has 110kmi. It's a cherry I flew to Cali and drove home to MI.

    Best OWB??

HeatmasterSS G100/200/400 gets my vote. Unless you purposely burn junk/scrap wood, there's no reason not to run a gassifier. I've done a ton of homework on the subject and I'm replacing my empyre with a G200 this fall.

    Runnin' Loads

That's the beauty of a 2 stroke diesel! Only 212 cubic inches and made 495lbft back in the 1970s. Its not overly fancy, that's the beauty of them. They just flow a ton of air and fire twice as often, so they can be quite compact vs a comparable output 4 stroke. But they're not super small by...
