    So I got this 395xp I'm re building the clutch bolt is stripped? How do I remove it with out damage to crank? I've tried everything one side of bolt completely rounded. It's 404 and I wanted to swap 3/8 any suggestions please? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pros and cons to big bore kit? What brand etc? Change any other parts?And can I buy an already ported cylinder and piston or even just the ported jug? First time rebuilding a saw top end and I'm excited to personalize and play with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    I also be sure to check the boot for damage. I did break the sealing color the boot goes through plastic was super brittle so I'll have to replace that as well I'll post pics of cylinder once I have it off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ok...I'll pull the cylinder off tonight. These are pics of piston exhaust side. I never thought about doing the crank bearings I stripped the whole saw down looking for other problems and to clean it up so might as well look into seals and bearings. How would I clean up the cylinder? What grit...

    I got an older running 395xp it ran but not nearly the way my buddies newer one runs. Started tearing it down to find a piston that's toasted looks like straight gas been through it. Carb isn't a Walboro but it works just needs a cleaning so I'm not replacing that. I have everything but the head...

    I ended up borrowing my friends 395 42" bar for this bigger tree but I'm running a 36" on my 390 no felling dogs with a homemade granberg type chain and it's doing rather nicely I appreciate the advice sir

    NEWBIE MILLING HELP NEEDED

    72cc and 60" of. Nice how's that cut..I've got a muffler modded 390xp and I want to get a 42" full skip chain and bar for...I've talked myself out of it to just a 36" but now thinking screw it just try it lol

    That's awesome to know...I have a 36" mill and want the full cut occasionally usually use a 28"to mill with...so it has the power then to pull 42" even if a little slow. Figure a 3/8 .063 full skip and Aux oiler for sure would help some.

    you Thanks for your quick...I think I'm goin to end up just getting the 36" for it..I was hoping I could run a 42"...a fellow logger friend said he's put a 42" on from time to time if he didn't have a 395 but he also reccomended going no larger than 36....I just got a big pecan log 34" I wanted...

    Wanting to mill with 42" bar on 390xp with muffler mod. I understand the oiler would be at it's Max on 36". If I used an aux oiler would it help..is the 390 underpowered for 42"? I was going to run either Grandberg or full skip chain and it will only be an occasional use
