Buying a portable sawmill in 2021?

Get busy, those downed trees won't last forever.

    Built a sawmill this year

Usually indicates a small misalignment in blade angle to mill rails. Can also be a bit of buildup on the guides or blade...doesn't take much.

Looks like some really nice spalting. Always love the patterns it produces. Here is a nice spalted oak I slabbed a while back.

I would let them know as you walk out the door that they lost parts sales from you and all your friends over a $40 tool.

    Huztl MS660

Checking in with you guys after a long sabbatical and came across your troubles with the 660. What oil and ratio did you use and what tune and break-in process was used? Did you pre lube all bearings during assembly? My 100% Hutzl FarmerTec has ran fine for slab milling with 32:1 synthetic...

You may have to bent the tab on the throttle lever, tweek the linkage or bevel the edges of the butterfly if that is preventing full closure of the throttle.

Huztl's new 25" and 28" bar is clone of ?????

Right, I was not implying the tips were similar, only that the name was copied from GB.

    Nicholson files are junk

I find some file tooth types need to be tapped frequently or back wiped clean every few teeth or they skate.

Huztl's new 25" and 28" bar is clone of ?????

I noticed on Huztl and now on Dancy's site that the 24" and 25" are both 84DL ...seems odd but it's common to see over stated bar length on Chinese bars. I also noticed that Dancy does not list a 28" 92DL bar...wonder who makes Huztl's? Another observation is that the Sugi style tip is only...

    Nicholson files are junk

I've had great results with SaveEdge and GB(Swiss). Never really had one that was trash...even the trilink crap at Wally's seem to work OK in a pinch.

The only significant difference for homeowner/firewood use would be local availability I suspect. When one gets into longer chain milling bars in 3/8 then .063 usually is favored for improved oiling capacity.
