    Bar dresser?

I use a 4" bench grinder stone with a 1/2" bolt and bushings to make it fit, then chuck it up in my drill press. I set the table on the press at the correct height to keep the bar at 90 degrees to the stone. The best part for me is I can adjust the speed to my liking and to suit the courseness...

    cleaned mom's flue pipe

As far as getting flamed for letting the chimney get that bad.... I find my self in the same boat with many things, I am almost always behind and trying to catch up. I have developed the train of thought to say that "whomever has the time to complain or give me crap about the things I am behind...

    1/2" Chain Questions

Thanks for the info. Bill, I have looked at the Danzco pin drive for the 1130G before and that may be the cheapest and easiest way to go.

    1/2" Chain Questions

Hello John, hope you are having a great day. Do you happen to know where a feller can find a .404 setup to put on a Super 1130G?

    Homelite 1130g - how much gear-oil ?

Thanks for catching that for us Mark, that wouldn't have worked out to well. I also have a Super 1130G but I havn't used it in at least 15 years, I think I figured that out back when I was using it with a 36" for cutting up some big oaks for firewood.

What’s the secret to keep poulan pp4218aux running ❓

Hello Dennis, here are a couple of things to try when the saw is warm and does not want to re-start. 1. You may want to try pulling the choke out then push it back in, this sets the fast idle & usually works for me. 2. You may want to check your spark plug. I have had some success with...

3 fun projects - was handed over for free

Hello Mark, hope you are having a great day. Just thought I would tell you thanks for the pic of the line routing on this saw. I would like to ask if the anti-collapse/kink springs inside the lines were factory or were they a add on? Rags

Makita 6421 with NWP 84cc p&c bogs down after running fine for 20 minutes

I would try to run the saw until it dies, pull the plug & check if it still has spark. Sounds like the coil could be the culprit.

How to figure chainsaw sprocket pitch?

You mentioned that the sprocket you have might be for a gear drive saw or a harvester. My Homelite Super 1130G with 1/2" chain has a sprocket that looks just like that, if I remember correctly the hole in the center is 1/2" & the two key ways are for 1/4" keys. I would like to one day find a...

Huztl FarmerTec 070 Build Thread with upgrade info and completed saw

I MUST say bravo Mike. I have 2 Yuzhoukee clones that I have been needing to get around to doing this same type of mod. to. One is still 105cc & the other has the 090 P&C. Thanks for beating me to it as far as the craft work of finding the right combo of parts & mods. to make this work. Thanks...

Tutorial: make your own raker depth gauge supported by software tool

Hello Pogo thanks for your response. I am missing something apparently when you refer to the shape of the gullet & cutter needing to have a consistent shape...... What I am proposing is a gauge with a slot that would capture the depth gauge similar to Hannes's design but would have a...

Tutorial: make your own raker depth gauge supported by software tool

Hello Eric thanks for your reply, I think you may have missed something when reading my post, likely because of my vague description. I'm not sure if you have made any of the gauge designs proposed by Hannes or not, I have made 1 for each for 3/8LP, 3/8 & .404. All of the gauges I made were...

Tutorial: make your own raker depth gauge supported by software tool

Hello folks, just wanted to throw something out there that I have been thinking about....... Has anyone thought about making a tool that would retreat rearward with the the cutter as it gets shorter? This would keep the set degree of angle for the depth gauge once you have settled on what...

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

Hello Bedford T & folks. After thinking about my air filter issues, I remember this was likely caused by misalignment from the air filter mount. I had repaired the mount, it was broken when the saw arrived & wanted to run the saw while waiting on the new one. Still I think the foam gasket will...

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

Hello Bedford T hope you are doing well. I have to ask about your comment in reference to my post. I don't know if you realized I was dealing with the OIL TANK VENT & if you did........ I have watched your video before & just watched it again. You show that the fuel tank SHOULD hold pressure...

    FarmerTec Holzfforma G660 Purple Monster

Hello folks, thought I would mention that I made a couple of post over in the 660 build thread about fuel & oil leaks that may be of help to someone as they were generated by my purchase of 2 of the G660 saws. I am VERY happy with the investment in the saws after a few mods/repairs, at this...

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

Hello folks, in addition to what I mentioned in the previous post I have a little more info. to share. These experiences & info. are from my purchase of 2 of the G660 Blue Monster preassembled saws so I'm not sure how much of it will directly relate to the kits, I figure there is a good...

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

Hello folks, hope everyone is having a great day. Just thought I would mention, if it hasn't already been covered. I found some of the aftermarket fuel caps with O-ring seals leak. What I found that fixed mine was it needed approx. 1/8" of the very top thread (where the O-ring rests) needs to...
