    Huztl 660 build

I almost have a tank through this machine, and noticed something strange. There's a fuel leak... but not out the fuel cap. As it sits in the garage, during the heat of the day you can smell the fuel. Drips are going down the handle. Upon further inspection, fuel is coming out of the pickup...

    McCullough super pro 81

Nice, congrats on the Mac. When I picked up my PM610, it sure felt like it had compression too; however someone had straight gassed it in the past and the rings were stuck. Spark, fuel, and nothing. The view through the exhaust port told all. I'm sure it's fixable. That will be a great...

    Echo Chain Saws

Took the CS-341 apart for cleaning last night. Turns out the sprocket is 3/8, the same as the chain. I guess due to some wear on it, it's got the feeling of being slightly off. That's on the list of things to do now. Got almost all of my Echo family together last night. The trimmer...

    Echo Chain Saws

I picked up both of my Echos in the past year. First was the CS-341. Then came the CS-4400 I love running both of them for their purposes. The CS-4400 has good power for it's size, and the CS-341 is awesome for up in the tree. Although... I just found out that I got the wrong bar &...

Nor Cal & North SF Bay GTG (November 11-14, 2022)

Alright, I've got the event on my calendar now (Nov 3, 4 &5) and will very hopefully at least make it for Saturday or Sunday. We'll have to hold off on camping this time sadly; I have work to do on our trailer (busted the leveling jacks in the driveway. Diesel truck...) and that has to wait...

    Huztl 660 build

And... some final photos before it's first run. It did indeed fire right up after a few pulls. I'm not sure it needs the decompression valve but that might change after it breaks in. It idles mean... throttle is snappy... and it sure blew a lot of smoke (I used 2-stroke oil for assembly)...

    Huztl 660 build

I actually did watch a few of the videos, but it's hard for me to follow without the parts in front of me. Somewhere... I don't remember where and apparently I didn't save it... I found the IPL for the MS660 and actually mostly went off that. That didn't show me everything though, so after...

    Jeep saw/four wheeler saw

Of my saws... I'd take my Echo 4400 with me for a nice lightweight saw to have while out in the 4X4 or on a 4-wheeler for sure. It's light, 18" bar is plenty long for most of what might be out in the way, and it certainly has the HP to cut well enough. Sure the 341 is smaller and lighter, but...

    Huztl 660 build

Good call Steve, thanks. I'm going to check the "spares" drawer in my toolbox to see what I've got. "Spares" as in random saved bits that I knew I'd need someday! Additional photos of the build. Although you receive a box full of parts, and it looks super confusing, it's really pretty easy...

FarmerTec Huztl MS660 Updated Build Kit - Build Thread

Does Huztl have that clutch cover listed somewhere on their site? I see it on ebay, but haven't located it yet on their site. Clay

    Huztl 660 build

Greetings all, Since finally getting the McCulloch 610 functioning properly (with an engine rebuild), I was finally able to get working on the Huztl 660 kit I ordered when they were on sale around Father's day this past year. The box had been waiting patiently in the garage all this time...

I'm going to do what I can to convince her it's a good idea ;) We do have heat, she is more concerned about rain, which doesn't concern me that much at all. We might go visit the park between now and then, which might help convince her as well. Thanks! Clay

My wife isn't keen on camping in November. I'm looking at reservations and see a few sites left... although we are close enough, we don't *need* to camp but camping is always fun. I'll be carefully considering my options here. Looks like it could be a fun event though! Clay

Nor Cal & North SF Bay GTG (November 11-14, 2022)

Camping, always sounds good to me but yes I have to get that OK'd by my wife. I recall driving by this park in the past, and maybe even checking it out. Need to see if there is room for our (somewhat large) tent trailer? I'm going through this thread looking for photos of what goes on... is...

    New to me McCulloch 610

Well now. It turns out that once the beast is warm, the oil flows. Quite well, I'm pretty happy! I'm making note of that HDB carb mod... I was using the manual pump as well and yeah, too much oil at that point; you can see it in the wood. The funny thing is now there are PM 610's...

    New to me McCulloch 610

I'll have to see how it goes I guess. It will probably be fine since the pump is working now; but I do like to keep my bar & chain lubed well. The little 3214 sure runs through the oil... probably 2 tanks of oil per tank of fuel, if not more. Thanks! Clay
