    Nik's Poulan Thread

The snow storm that hit us on Monday dropped a ton of trees. Luckily very little at my property but my brother in laws and in-laws there’s a bunch. Timed well with getting a grapple for the tractor. Time to sharpen chains and get to clean up.

so actually the bar is a 20” hard nose. I counted the links and it’s 72. I know my previous 20” chains for my Oregon advance cut bar is too short to fit and are 70 links. I’m a little puzzled as to how it’s longer and Oregon’s website shows all 70 links for it. I’ll buy a 72 link lgx chain or...

Anyone know of chain options for a 23” poulan bar on a 3700? Oregon page says 72LPX081G. I was hoping to find a full skip or semi skip as I think that’s just too much for it. I have a chain but haven’t counted links but it’s full comp as well. I started cleaning and repairing the 3700 that got...

I would’ve been more mad at any of the things but it was all just dumb stuff happening that could’ve been avoided but also wasn’t unreasonable to happen based off of the situations. It sucks. Nothing is destroyed beyond repair or not replaceable. Sucks tearing stuff up but eh. If we’re...

Ghetto fuel line repair and case damage. Could be worse. Definitely fixable. Tore up a lot of stuff today between the tractor, saw, and broke the invisible fence wire while clearing too. Good times.

Well…. Haven’t cut much since moving and was out clearing some area woods to put in an electric fence. The tune on the 3700 is off and it wasn’t cutting good so I used my Husky instead. I was cutting and my wife was using using our tractor to shove the piles of brush and wood out of the way. In...

I did a nuff mod similar to that already. May open it up a little more at some point but the saw runs well already.

That’s good compression for a 3700. Wow! I’d love a better intake for mine plus that muff mod.

They don’t make them like that anymore... that’s a pretty impressive little beast there. I had looked at the old SATO beavers that had front loaders. I would see them come for sale here and there for like $3000 and at our old place it would’ve been a perfect size.

I’ve used my snow plow on the mower to move mounds of dirt/mulch before. Better than by hand that’s for sure!

We did a 6 foot and that thing is great. Absolutely love it. Was pricey but well worth it.

We squeezed this on a rental uhaul utility trailer. Literally rubbed tires getting it on cause the loading gate is not as wide as the trailer. Lol. Our real trailer is on order.

Good to know! We had issues with the seat switch. I’m not sure how my wife was sitting but it kept cutting out over bumps. She changed how she was sitting and it worked fine. I ended up jumper if the switch last night as that’s just annoying. I’ll check the oil filter tonight if I have time.

Yeah we looked at some smaller kubota tractors and other sub compact but my wife is the one who convinced me to spend the money on the compact which is the size we wanted but didn’t really want to spend money on. Just got a box blade and later will be a grapple. Have to add a third function for...

I used my wife’s cameo silhouette and it worked real well for the oilers but I struggled on thicker gasket material that I got from advanced auto. Never continued messing with it as life got in the way and I personally didn’t have a use for those gaskets. I’m sure I probably could’ve done it by...

I think I have a few more oil diaphragms cut with a machine. I’m out of material and I’d have to dig them up since I’m still unboxing from moving in January. Thinking of Trying my 22” hard nose bar out this year on the 3700. Need to sharpen the chain but I’ve yet to use it. It’s heavy though...

    372 suddenly leaking bar oil?

I’m betting it’s just the pressure. I relieved the pressure and I’ll check. I don’t care that it leaks a little. Just it never had leaked a drop before and suddenly started. That was the “alarming” thing. My Poulan and stihl leak all the time but I expect it.
