How would you measure this for cord increments?

Measure the height and length of the rows and length of the pieces of wood in inches. Multiple all 3 together and divide by 1728. This will give you cubic feet. Divide the total cubic feet by 128 to get number of cords. Simple math for area of a box.

Dino vs. Log Lift bag capacity?

I am using both types of bags but the Dino looks noticeably larger. Seems a little taller and a little wider. My tractor also struggles a bit to lift a full Dino bag compared to the Log Lift. I've seen the videos on YouTube where guys put an entire measured 1/3rd cord of wood in a Log Loft...

Trash rack/table between splitter and conveyor vs. grizzly bars on end of conveyor

This is what I came up with. 1/4" steel plate and 1" square tubing with a 2" gap in between. Worked well on the initial test run!

Weight of exactly 1 face cord of split & seasoned oak firewood ?

1600#. Several people on YouTube have done it - Mike Morgan and Adam from Hometown Acres.

Trash rack/table between splitter and conveyor vs. grizzly bars on end of conveyor

Thanks for the reply. Rather than build a separate table I think I'm going to build a replacement for the aluminum Eastonmade outfeed tray. Plan to use the same mounting design as the OEM but make the majority of it out of round bar or tube with 2 inch spacing. The receiver hitch mount is an...

Trash rack/table between splitter and conveyor vs. grizzly bars on end of conveyor

Thinking about putting some sort of trash rack/table between my splitter and conveyor. I know some splitters have something similar as their outfeed table. Anyone have pics of this? The box wedge on my Eastonmade 9-16 makes so much trash. I don't mind the waste - just looking for more...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

No - typically just hang off the end of the conveyor. Thinking about a trash rack (or trash table) between the splitter and conveyor now. Will start another thread. I did add a cheap generator to the conveyor though. No longer limited by an extension cord!

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Working well so far. I've filled about 30 bags so far without issue. Haven't got around to making a trash rack yet. That might be a winter project along with a rack to hold the bags open like Shaver sells. Would also like to extend the side rails up the conveyor.

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Last mod will be grizzly bars/trash rack. Any thoughts on round bar vs. angle iron for the first section that the wood slides on?

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Just a little update. My $100 conveyor is closer to 16' than 12"! It was used to help unload semi's and box trucks in a warehouse so it had tiny solid rubber wheels. I made a new axle with trailer spindles and hubs. Also made a hitch and added two stabilizer jacks. Had a local fab shop make...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Thanks for the feedback to those that have replied. I lucked out this past weekend and picked up a 12' belt drive electric conveyor for $100! Don't think it was intended for outside use but it should work for the time being and price was right! Will be able to fill bags and possibly load my...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Update on the conveyor. I'm taking it back tomorrow. Just doesn't work well for my set up. The wood coming off the box wedge jams up in the hopper and the narrow, single chain design doesn't take the wood away. Also, the box wedge creates lots of scrap - twice in one cords' worth of...

    Is sycamore firewood any good?

My experience has been similar to some others here. Sycamore in NW Pennsylvania has a lot of water and is the most miserable wood I have ever attempted to split. Told my tree guy to never bring it to me again!

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

That's good to hear. I remember seeing your Pallax swing and thought it was cool - pallet rotator is even better! I bought the Hud-son conveyor yesterday. Not exactly what I wanted but made in the USA and built solid. I think it was worth paying a little more to avoid issues with the cheaper...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Going to check out a 16' Hudson chain conveyor on Wednesday. Wish it was a little longer but has a max height of 9'6". Should be enough to fill the bags or my dump trailer. I think I'm going to try the bags and see how they work. The sample pack is $275ish for 12 bags. IBC totes are getting...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Those look nice. One man operation to split and stack or do you have 2 guys working? How do you unload/deliver the crates?

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

I only have 4-5 plastic pallets. I do have a bunch of wooden ones and people are always giving them away. Chris from In the Wood Yard on YouTube is doing exactly what you are suggesting. He's making cribs out of pallets and dumping wood into them. Could be an option for me. Leaning towards...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Got to see the range-road conveyor in person on Saturday. Nice unit for the price and I think it will do what I need. Unfortunately he didn't have any others in stock to sell. He "sold" 2 that week - found out later he is actually the US distributor for range-road. He sent the conveyors to 2...

Anyone using bulk (1/3rd cord) firewood bags?

Thanks for the reply. Really struggling with what to do next. I want a conveyor regardless but don't want to just split onto the ground - concerned about proper seasoning of the entire pile. Even if I did split on to the ground then I would have to stack in some way when it is time to sell in...
