Can anyone recommend an Axe/Adze handle for a 3lb axe head?

Thanks for that lead. I’m going to buy a 36 inch felling axe handle and I’ll cut the eye insert and re-carve and fit a new one out of the existing shoulder, and finally a new shoulder a bit lower. I’m hoping there will be enough meat there.

Can anyone recommend an Axe/Adze handle for a 3lb axe head?

Greetings, I acquired a cool axe head from Bulgaria, which is a bearded axe. I want to use a 24-30 inch handle for it so it can be a nice camp axe. The eye is huge and weird shaped, so I can’t just order a handle for it. I had a white ash branch but at 1.75 in diameter, it is too small to...

    Re-wedging an Axe, bad idea?

Yes thank you for the reminder. The first time I used it I learned this lesson.

    Re-wedging an Axe, bad idea?

Will that work? Could I use something like boiled linseed oil? I keep this in the garage I’m worried about it happening again. It appears to be varnished hickory.

    Re-wedging an Axe, bad idea?

Howdy all! Hope you are having a blessed Easter Week! I have a question regarding the practice of re-wedging an axe that had become loose? I inherited a True American USA Michigan-style axe from my pop, and it’s sat in my Phoenix garage for 5 summers. Don’t know too much about these axes but...

Anyone know specs on Wild Thing air filter nuts/washers?

Thanks Ray! M5 .80 worked. Checked the housing for loose nuts but none found. Started, it ran for 20 seconds, chain was stuck, I thought it a chain brake and then fuel came out the bottom. Don’t see any holes but they are probably there at the injection molding seam. Anyhow, I tried and now...

Anyone know specs on Wild Thing air filter nuts/washers?

I have a late 1990s Wild Thing (2175) that is a bit leaky but otherwise runs like a champ. It’s been 5 years from the last carb rebuild and it hasn’t had much use, maybe a cord of wood in that time. I think I used only canned premixed fuel and emptied it but the fuel line finally disintegrated...

Will these videos make me safer with a chainsaw?

Okay I’ll check those out. Many thanks! My nightmare scenario is a diseased tree that barber chairs. I found the video below a bit hair raising for the man involved, but they gave me some more familiarity with the barber chair effect.

Will these videos make me safer with a chainsaw?

Just a homeowner here cutting a couple of cords per year of small local mesquite, juniper and palo verde (Arizona) but I’ve acquired some wooded areas back east with 40 foot white ash that I’m preparing to cut if I have to. I have a Husky 450 Rancher, just got a Stihl MS261C and am looking to...

    Bottom dwelling saws

I’m a lurker here. Great discussion gents, very informative for us casual homeowners. I’ve got a late 1990s Poulan Wild Thing that I inherited from my late father. Yep, stored with mixed fuel and so I changed the lines and tried to rebuild the walbro carb but it didn’t work. Bought a new...

How hard is it to rebuild an earthquake carb?

Another vote for rebuilding the carb. I am a newbie and I just rebuilt one. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Tree growing against load bearing wall. What's the proper felling technique?

Hie everyone! I inherited a house from my late father. In his final years, he wasn't much able to do heavy maintenance and he rarely went to one of the sides of the house, which became overgrown with Apple, Fig and Ash trees. I have trimmed and cut down most of the trees with my homeowners...

I miss my dad's 250. The sound of that yellow jacket of death on a Saturday morning is a nice childhood memory for me. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Newbie question: Using Oregon M80 chain with my Farm Tough bar (80DL/.325/.50/20") good to go?

So the M80 designation by Oregon seems to be a Lowe's thing maybe? It is also known as 95TXL080G. I ended up getting a speed cut bar, Oregon 200TXLBK095 to go along with it. I didn't get the calipers out yet, but it seems to be the same width as my 20" Farm Tough bar, but an inch or so shorter...

Late 90s Poulan "Wild Thing" - easy enough to fix?

So the saga has a happy ending! After a week, I got the saw back from a different shop. Mind you, these shops cater to professional gardeners and are very busy. They found out that my Amazon bought carb was a bum carb and they replaced it, the spark plug, gave the brand new chain a special...
