372 xt - Is there any hope or did I buy the wrong saw?

I have and run both a 375xp and a372xt. Both have been base gasket deleted and both are running the aftermarket mufflers with screen added for spark prevention. When I run them side by side there is very little difference. The 375xp is running the unlimited coil while the 372xt has the limited...

    Need Husqvarna 51 Brake handle

Let us know how you like it. I have used the Ebay aftermarket covers for the 51 and 55s in the past, several years ago. I was not impressed with the quality of the fitment, or the rope used, but at least one of my saws still has it in use. On the other hand, I have used at least three of the...

    Husqvarna 55 (1991-2001) "Plain" -> Air Injection

I find my closed port 55 to be my go-to saw for just around the house, starts easy, runs well. If I am seriously cutting wood, I grab my 562 and 550. But a 55 or even a 51 will always be near and dear to me.

what would be a good almost daily use chainsaw

Husqvarna 350i "Power Axe" reviews anyone?

The battery's i have are the bli30 40v battery's, the seem to run from $250-350 dollars. It would take 4 battery's and 3 chargers to keep one of these running all day with medium duty use. That is a draw back for steady use.

Husqvarna 350i "Power Axe" reviews anyone?

I am running 3/8", that's what it came with. This is the only battery saw I have ever run.

Husqvarna 350i "Power Axe" reviews anyone?

I bought one a couple months ago due to having shoulder problems making it hard to start my other husky saws. I have used it fall maybe 10 fir trees and cut up maybe 30 trees that I already had down. I have a hard time making face cuts with it because of its slower chain speed. I did find it...

    What's your EOTW Saw?

I would probably say a Husqvarna 55, or 372 or an Homelite xl12.

    266xp rebuild

A good running 371xp for $300 isn't a bad deal, a step up from a 266. Then rebuild your 266. You have a 61 so you still have a running quality saw.

Homelite xl 924 or stihl 056 super

The xl925 is one heck of a saw if you are man enough to start it. Mine never gets used any more as my 372 has pretty much replaced it but the xl925 certainly has more grunt. I have a 056 on the shelf but it just dosn't fit me as well as the Husqvarna or the old homelite. I didn't realize either...

    Used saw, missing data tag

I know some saw shops remove those tags on their parts saws before selling them as scrap saws. I bought a lot of Husqvarna carcasses from a dealer, and all had the id tags removed.

Husqvarna 372XP (non XT) good price or not?

I know of falling crews here in the NW that use primarily 372 saws or Madsen prepped 372 saws with 375 top ends. 372 saws are still being built and used and are a hard saw to beat. I may be biased as I own a 372XT, a 375XP and a 375 cutoff saw but I also own a 550 and a 562. I would not pay $550...

    Husqvarna 66

I have had a few of those. Prettied one up and put next a cd2100 I went through. Parts are hard to find, and they are heavy and underpowered compared to newer saws. If you are going to be using a saw for firewood or even yard work, I would look for something slightly newer, maybe a 357 or 359...

The most expensive thing I ever learned about a chainsaw…

Must have two saws you can start! 30 years ago, I had a new husqvarna 51 and an old homelite xl925. I got the 51 stuck in a maple I shouldn't even tried to cut with it. By the time I got the old xl925 out and up on the hill I was so worn out I couldn't get the **** thing to start. Sent my wife...

Need help with the 12 saw plan

You need at least two or three 3 series saws, a 372, 359 or 357,346 maybe a 55, maybe a 2100cd or an xl925, but most of all go threw them one at a time and get them running.

build ported 372xt or ported 372xp?

It sounds like you already know what you want to do. I have a 372XT I put together with a gasket delete and a gutted muffler. OEM top end, it has a limited coil. I also have a 375xp I put together with a gasket delete and gutted muffler. 75cc OEM top end, it has the unlimited coil. If I run them...

    372XP advice

Actually, I find the 372 much easier to replace the top end on than the 562, and I've done both. Those 562 saws seem like they made everything cramped together compared to a 372.

Which Saw to Keep? 372XPW or 562XP

As much as like my 372xt and my 75cc 372 I can't imagine having either of them for my smallest saw, so I would go 562 and 390.

    Six pack of Huskies

They are certainly loud. My goal on both my 550 and 555 was to get rid of heat. They have good power put of the box. I bought both my 550 and 555 with smeared pistons. I believe on those early 550, 555 series saws melting down is/was there biggest weakness. The bearings get blamed a lot but both...

    Six pack of Huskies

On my 555 I didn't split mine. I drilled and cut from the openings on the muffler, by the time I was done I only have the spark arrestor screen. I did the same on a 550. My main goal was to get the exhaust out of the muffler to reduce the retained heat in the muffler. They act like big heat sink...
