Big Red Oak That Needs to Come Down

I love all trees and we have planted many. One rule that we follow is no tree within striking distance of our house or any outbuildings period.

    Holzfforma chainsaws any good?

Back when we were broke - I bought my wife her first semi automatic handgun - the Hi Point 9mm. Got home with it - ran down to our shooting range and she hit the gong at 20 paces 8 out of 8 (it came with an 8 round clip back then). Some years later - when we weren't so broke - we were looking...

Got some Bosch battery tools yesterday...

I have had the CRS180 for awhile now - no complaints. Like most cordless tools - it's the battery that makes the difference. I don't have the cordless palm sander - but there is always a wish list.

    Stihl fs85 pro issue

I have 4 FS80 / FS85 - I upgraded the FS80 versions to solid shaft. I keep a chinknesium coil and carburetor on hand. When they act up on throttle - I don't even adjust them anymore - I just replace the $12 carburetor and get back to work. I have found that about 1 in 4 of the chink carbs...

What is your favorite non-saw tool brand?

Big Bosch 12V and 18V tool user. I do have to admit though that in my research for a cordless grease gun - that I purchased a Hercules 20V grease gun on the buy two 5.0ah batteries and get the tool free special. I really did not want to jump to another charger and battery platform - but Bosch...

Best Chinese chainsaw, Farmertec Vs Neotec Vs ?

I have to say that I am impressed with the little Neotech 25çc top handle chainsaw. We have been pruning trees the last 2 days and it hadn't missed a beat. Doesn't run too long with such a small gas tank - but for $115 - I'll get it over it. That is is a Haulotte 42' lift from the local...

Best Chinese chainsaw, Farmertec Vs Neotec Vs ?

Everyone one around here is selling their OE 372XP saws that look like they are pretty well used for $600 and up. Most go to the dealers - get the price of a new saw and hope to go half on a resell. You know the ads that all say something like totally rebuilt but rough cosmetic shape - no low...

Best Chinese chainsaw, Farmertec Vs Neotec Vs ?

I also have a Farmertech G372XP that I got from Bluesaws. I'm running a Chinknesium 24" bar and chain. The only "mod" is a Walbro carb. It's been through a goodly number of dead ash trees and recently saw service in a 28" Poplar. We must have had a short micro burst come through here...

Best Chinese chainsaw, Farmertec Vs Neotec Vs ?

I have run a Tanaka top handle w/ 14" bar for several years with absolutely stellar performance. It seems like we are always cutting something down due to woods thinning, clearing, wind damage, dead ash trees etc. That little Tanaka has been a very good all around saw and fits good in the ATV...

    Rate your Chinese chain saw?

We just put 5 tanks through our Chinknesium (so funny) Farmertec 372 XP whacking down an 80' Poplar (that also took 2 skinny Maples with it). Straight stock except a Walbro carburetor. Running a 24" Farmertec bar too. The Poplar was 28" at the stump and it took it all with no complaints...

Torn rotator cuff and starting saws

I have 2 Lawn Boys that I start this way. I used some Loctite on the flywheel nuts and torqued them good.

    firewood tractors

Other than my 3 pt mower, I have found that carryall to be my most liked 3pt implement. Easy to build and customize. I carry everything I need when headed down to the woods to clear, burn a pile of limbs and cut some dead Ash trees (of which I have many). I made a dolly for it to sit on when...

Attachments for pushing over leaning trees

Darn ingenious I'd say. Amazing things you can do with a tractor, loader and some ingenuity. Good for you!

    firewood tractors

My little New Holland 1520 with the 3 pt carryall is pretty nimble around our place. I can lug everything I need down to the woods - cut and haul back a load in the bucket and the carryall. Keeps me busy enough.

    028 carb issues

I already did that and the $9 one that I tried didn't work any better than the $8 one.
