    Pebbles in muffler-3120

The muffler still has the screen in it. The muffler was loose and missing the exhaust gasket when I bought it.

    Pebbles in muffler-3120

They were actual rocks. Round pebbles. I didn't get a pic, put them aside and can't find them now. Piston looked ok. I compression tested it at the time I think it tested 150 ish. I will check on the spark screen to see if it was removed.

    Pebbles in muffler-3120

Some time ago I bought a used Husky 3120. I was low on sleep and didn't check it out as well as I might normally. I got it home and found the muffler was loose. I removed the muffler and found it had a rattle in it when shook. I tipped it and 6 to 8 small pebbles came out. They ranged in from bb...

Bar length for chainsaw mill 52' or 60' ?

I have been alaska milling with a 36' bar and now have collected a number of logs that are too wide to mill with that bar. I am considering what length bar to get. Most of what I mill and will mill would fit ok with a 48' bar. There would be some logs that would need a longer bar. Question...

convert bar from 066 to 090- possible?

What is involved in modding a bar from an 066 to fit an 090? Have the chance to get a good deal on a long bar from an 066 and want to mod it to fit on my 090. Anyone done this? I am sure I have seen a thread on this, but looked and couldn't find it. May have been on another site. Thanks for...

    Ripsaw-considering buying one-question

Here is a link to the product on the manufacturer website. The home page gives info that they are not in business but the rest of the pages are still there. http://www.ripsaw.com/ripsaw.html There are a few threads on arboristsite about them, if you put ripsaw in the search.

    Ripsaw-considering buying one-question

I have a line on a ripsaw chainsaw powered portable bandsaw mill that I may buy. The manufacturer has gone out of business, so accessing new parts is not possible. How likely am I to need new parts? What does wear out on these? What do I need to watch for, wear wise, in accessing the ripsaw...

    288xp milling

Get the longer bar. Reasoning If you are milling something that requires the longer bar then you can keep a chain for that purpose with higher rakers so that the chain is chipping less wood with each tooth. You just go slow and let the saw dictate the pace, no rushing. The type of wood...

    52" bar or 60" bar

My granberg came with 24" rails. (was an extra $25 with the 2095 I bought) I made it 40" by getting 1" square aluminum tubing and drilling it where I wanted the cross members to mount. I am going to do the same for the 62" bar, but thinking I will 1 x2 inch stock this time. I did buy the new...

    52" bar or 60" bar

I have been alaska milling with a 36" bar and have some bigger trees coming along soon. Do I want to get a 60" bar or a 52" bar? Cost is relatively similar. I will be running the bar on a 3120. I am leaning towards the 60" Thoughts or advice?
