    New thread

Might take a little time to come together, but this is where I’ll be posting from now on. I just (respectfully of course) think it’s time for a change. So let’s do it. This should be a place where we can all discuss tree work/equipment, and post pics (stills welcome, as well as videos lol) like...

    Alturnamats over septic tank

Did a little job yesterday where the customer informed me that a competitor had suggested using those things to back his bucket over a septic tank (maybe even set up on). Would any of you guys try this? I'm sure they disperse the weight better than plywood, but I don't think I would wanna try...

Disclaimer: I realize i should have gotten a signed contract, so save it! I don't really want to work for people that aren't good for their word. Picked up a nice little tree job about eight days ago. Job was priced nice and the people were happy (they called back with the go ahead latter...

    Low and slow baby!

Stepped off the rim of Stubs (all wheel drive rear mount LR III) with the new saddle and climbing system yesterday to finish off the week. 90 to 100' red oak - all roping, wood too. I tried the vt and hitch climber out on the first REAL take down. So here I am fiddling around with this thing...

Has it really become that...er unfashionable to use a polesaw in a tree??

I still use a polesaw in a tree all the time, whether it be for pruning or takedowns (moving ropes around). I understand the whole "working the tips" thing - which I still do, whether it be climbing or from a good angle with the pole. I just cant see how you are supposed to get 10'- 15' above...

    Should I bother

I'm new to tree planting and keep hearing contradicting thoughts on this, the nursery guy says leave the cage alone and that I'll kill it if I remove it-others say remove it. I know this should have been posted in the nursery section but this will get more views here and I'm doing the job...
