    Upgrade Stihl 066 tank vent

Yes, the upside-down umbrella valve looks and feels just fine. I just tried to hold the saw upside down and I can now confirm that it is leaking from the vent. Not a lot though.

    Upgrade Stihl 066 tank vent

Thanks. I actually have the new style valve in the bulletin and it looks fine but perhaps it is just old. According to the bulletin it should allow for pressure to build.

Yes, that could be it too.

    Upgrade Stihl 066 tank vent

Hi. I am using my older style Stihl 066 with my Logosol M8 sawmill. That means that I have my saw tilted to the side all the time. Sometimes it is leaking fuel from the air box. I assume that it is the vent that is leaking when the tank is full. I looked at the IPL and found two different...

You all tried to warn me: Upgraded to a pro-saw - MS362C

I sounds to me that you picked the right saw! The 362 is not too expensive, it handles a 20" bar just fine and 25" if necessary and as you already figured out, it will serve you better when having only one saw. Now, if you were on a 2-saw plan that would be a different thing. However I must...

Alaskan mill and the 066 magnum

As you already noted 40:1 mix may help some. Keeping the chain sharp is required not to overload the saw. Slightly rich on the H screw will also help keeping the chainsaw alive. I would run the shortest bar I can get away with. Milling 25" hardwood is going to be tough on that 660, no reason to...

    Recommendations for bar oil?

I use biodegradable chainsaw oil almost exclusively. Better for you, the environment and keeps the saw much cleaner. Better in every way except for when storing the saw for a longer period of time. It is best to use a little petroleum-based oil just before putting the saw away since that oil...

Faulty wiring to the kill switch? Make sure everything is clean.

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

Looks can be deceiving! I do feel a bit old some days. Usually after a day in the woods. But I had no idea I am this old!!! However that explains the feeling.;)

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

So, the verdict is in. My 362 is right at 150 psi after 2 tanks of gas. The tester is probably not the best quality but it seems ok. At least the valve is at the bottom of the long hose. My 361 came in at 155 - 160 psi. It had 165 psi using my old tester. So it seems to me that my new saw has...

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

I am running a new Stihl RS chain in the video. I usually run Oregon 75 LPX. They are similar and perform about the same. Yeah, shipping your gauge to me will take a while and cost more than it's worth since I'm in Sweden. :) I was unable to locate the correct adapter for my gauge so I will go...

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

Don't know exactly. We have a few different kinds here in Sweden but this one is by far the most common and we just call it birch. Well, in Swedish it is actually björk.

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

It runs great! It bogs down a little when I pull the handle in wood over 12 inches. I would say it runs as expected and that it may pick up a little power after the break in period.

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

You are totally right of course. The log is too small. But who would run another chainsaw than their brand new one regardless of log size![emoji16]

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

I don't know if this helps the OP. But this is how my new Stihl MS 362 C-M performs after only two tanks of gas.

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

Apparently they were able to find another 362 at another location so I now have a brand new MS 362 C-M in my hand. I haven't even put gas in it yet. I wasn't able to find an M10 adapter for my compression tester. It was on back order. So all I can say right now is that the compression feels fine...

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

Well, I ordered a 362 because I got a really good deal on one. But I am curious to see how it runs and what the compression reading would be. I got another call from the seller and they found another 362 at another location so I may still get one. I'm sure the 462 is a beast but it is expensive...

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

Ok. So scratch all this. I placed the order yesterday at a very, very good price point. Just now I received word that their stock was sold out and that I would get a refund. Bummer.

Low compression on my new Stihl MS362

Thanks, we have lots of brands here in Sweden but not Snap On unfortunately. But I'll find something that'll work.

Nope, I will try it bone stock. It may get a muffler mod later on.
