    Tree Disease

Thank you for your suggestion! Metasequoia, I’ll have to see it in person. Will definitely consider. Im going to look for something I can climb and rig to, something pretty, non-evergreen and definitely wet soil or verticilum resilient. Pin oak has been awesome, but dont want another. Sweet...

    Got Climbing Classes for HomeOwner?

I took some AGMA mountain guide and rescue classes that help with rigging. Local climbing gyms will offer similar things. Depends if the instructors are good though and a belay lesson isn't going to cut it. John Long's climbing anchors was a good book. Also, lot of good stuff on youtube. Wesspur...

    Tree Disease

So I found the issue and I thought posting about it would help you and people with similar tree problems. The maple tree sucked up water too soon back in 2013-2014 and experienced a deep freeze which internally split a lot of wood and made it rot on the inside. In its grossly weakened state...

Stihl 261 or 362 for homeowner

typo 461 & 261. Thanks for the correction. I guess since I own the MS 362 I thought everything was on the 2's. Never looked at the last #. Recommendation remains the same. Get the smaller one. I bought my saw in PA.

    Tree Disease

Any tips on how to identify the stressor? Are there any places of which you would like a picture? I have taken a soil sample...

Stihl 261 or 362 for homeowner

I own the MS362 professional saw. It's a beast. Takes down anything. With an aggressive skip chain, it will rip through a log faster than any saw I've used before. I've taken out many 30"+ trees with it for the forest service. Having said that, I put it in the garage for 2 years and just came...

    Tree Disease

I have inherited a badly diseased tree in the last month. I'm looking to identify the issues and cure the disease. If the disease is not curable I will be taking the tree down myself with rigging equipment. Pictures: (Tree and branches) http://s216.photobucket.com/user/lalabby/slideshow/tree...
