Want to Buy MS 460/ MS 046 Walbro HD-16 Carburator

I'm looking for a used Walbro HD-16 for my MS-460 that is functional or can be functional with a standard rebuild kit for a MS-460. Thank you!

    Machete recommendations?

I like Tramontina out of Brazil. They are inexpensive, simple, and readily available online. Despite the inexpensive price, the bolo machete I have seems to be well-made, and I can get it sharp enough to shave hair off my arm with a raker file and a kitchen knife steel in relatively short order...

MS 460 L needle valve head broke off!

Ok I might give the left hand bit a shot before notching it with a grinder-- thanks!

MS 460 L needle valve head broke off!

Screw didn't seem to be adjusting or seating/completely closing, then the head fell off so I'm not entirely sure what the situation is. Thanks for mentioning that it might be seized, I didn't think of that. In that case I might be effed on the carb as a whole but I l'll still try to to get it...

MS 460 L needle valve head broke off!

I just got a used MS460 and while adjusting the carb (Walbro HD-16), the head of the Low needle valve adjusting screw broke off. I am looking at extracting it with a left handed drill but this will be very difficult because the screw is only about 1/16". It looks like getting a drill (1/32")...

Neato, I suppose I have nothing further to contribute here. Best wishes.

    Only hazardous removals during Coronavirus?

I'd go out to do a hazard tree, but work that is for vanity or scheduled maintenance can wait. Hey if I can get some extra time to chill I'll take it-- helps offset the times when hours are long!

    Dolmar 510 issue

I had the same issue with my Dolmar 460 which is basically identical to the 510 (same bottom end and carb I think), only it has smaller displacement. I experienced the same issue you are describing after I ported and decked it. I replaced the spark plug (even though the last one seemed to be...

    Opinions on Echo 2511t?

I have 2511t and love climbing with it because I can climb all day with it on my saddle and I don't notice it whether I am climbing spreading trees with lots of limb walks or spiking conifers over 100ft. That being said, I also typically work at altitudes of 3000-5000 feet, and also find that...

Is there danger in running out of fuel WOT?

I definitely don't trust Stihl engineers and mechanics just like I don't trust politicians. Stihl employees are more interested in s'ing the EPA's d than much else. All the new Stihl saws I've run run like trash in real world work because they're so choked up. If the geniuses at Stihl were so...

    5100 idle?

Oddly enough I find that when my saws race at idle, I richen the high screw and it seems to resolve it. I have no idea why.

Echo Chainsaws Carb Adjustments for Altitude

I work at a variety of altitudes from 800 feet to 4000 feet so I'm adjusting the carb on my 2511t frequently. At 800 feet I had to back the high screw out about a full turn from stock adjustment for actually cutting in wood without without getting the saw to start getting hot and racing at idle...

California considering statewide ban on gas powered gardening equipment

Ironic California is trying to ban gas chainsaws when they are so desperately in need of fuel reduction. They seem unusually bent on making their lives as difficult and ineffective simply for a perception of moral superiority with seemingly little real measurable benefit. It's another round of...

Suggestions for a light weight saw for trimming and limbing?

As others have said: echo 2511t. Probably will be my next saw because it's light and supposedly muff mods very well.

    Michoacán

I use Tachyon Ash with EpiCord 9.3mm i2i 30" long and they pair nicely for double rope with a michoacán. Also oceans poly 8mm seems to work nicely on Tachyon but I find it wears quickly. For single rope ( with ropewrench) I have had good success with HRC 8mm i2i 28" long on 7/16 km-iii and...
