Post pictures of your woodpile/splitting area

Tree fell across a fence. Seemed like a good place to start a new pile. Doing a lot of tree removal in the area sprucing the place up

    Splitters

Forgot to mention that 30ton was able to split this stringy eucalyptus too. Slowed it down a bit but didn’t stall.

    Splitters

The tractor supply splitter works ok. The Ram set up is a BS design. It tends to get slowed down with bark and stuff stuck in the channels and you have to clear the bark off under the ram where housing. I don’t split as much as some of these guys but do split 25-30 cords of oak a year. Also my...

What's your favorite firewood scrounging saw

Yeah I am liking the 562 w/ 20 inch combo as well. have a new 24 inch lite weight bar for it that I may not ever put on. it cuts fast and no issues in 24 inch wood with it.

Looking to buy a new saw

I have to agree with the 562. its a really good saw. mainly cut oaks and it is now my go to saw. I use it to limb and buck as well as dropping limbs and trees when needed too. I only have about 14 tanks through it, but purchased a bunch of chain for it as it is really a nice saw to run.

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Ran out of room for wood and had to start a new spot to dump and split. Wet western has made access in to dump interesting. The split pile is two rows side by side you are seeming one of the piles the other is hidden by it the in split wood goes all the way down to the left of the split pile...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

I am not really sure what type of oak it is, the Bark on the trees is very different then what I have seen in the past. I sure would like to identify it though. I think most of it is Coast Live Oak, as im not cutting too far from the pacific ocean. there is a few Red oaks scattered amongst them...

    Scrounging Firewood (and other stuff)

Its all Oak. I finally got around to using the Husky 562xp , ran 14 tanks of fuel through it so far. it sure cuts good with a 20 inch bar. Not sure why I let it sit on the shelf so long before using it.

Have had a poison oak rash for a month now. Got a fair amount of wood out of this tree in the creek bed.
