    Tree ID help

    Looks like a Callery Pear(Bradford),prone to splitting when they get large.I transplant the smaller seedlings at the end of Winter and graft edible pear scion on the rootstock on my property.

    Red osier dogwood

    IMO the easiest way to propagate Red Twig dogwood is to pull a a branch down to the ground from the bush and cover the branch with a mound of soil.Wait till next Spring and you should have some nice roots for transplanting. Planting the seeds or using rooting hormone works too.

    2017 tomatoes failed

    I have had good luck with Ichiban eggplants in my garden.I have some pepper plants and several unknown variety eggplants in a fig tree container that I have overwintered in my kitchen from Summer 2017. I hope to get an early start once the weather warms up.

    Persimmon Growers

    I'm NE of Athens. I'm growing Saijo,Fuyu,and a couple of trees that were labeled as Hachiya,but may be another variety.I have a lot of wild persimmon trees.I have tried to graft Asian varieties on my wild male rootstocks,but they have failed,possibly due to bad weather in the last couple years...
