They claim biggest bar you should put on it is a 18". What is on your for a chain? Mine is really loud as well. Almost sounds like a dirtbike

Good to know, my friend came across one that was about to go to the scrap yard. He grabbed it and gave it to me. I put some fuel in it and it fired right up. It doesn't have the correct chain on it so I need to find the right chain for it. I think the automatic oil isnt working but other wise...

You might want to check that crank rod with a micrometer. I'm surprised it didnt fill the crank case with metal shavings, or did it?

I set the high speed jet on the rich side and run it normal. After 5 or 6 tank and lean it out a tad and every tank after that I lean out until I'm at the proper adjustment. That's all I have ever done with chainsaws anyways. High performance snowmobile and dirtbike engine are a different story

Yup that is a 266 cylinder. The 268 and 272s are the same. The 266 and 268 are very similar minus different transfer sizes and carb bolt location

I have one of these saws. The open port models aren't nearly as popular

Do you plan to leave the saw stock or are you going to modify it?
