    hickory

Are you staining this first or no? If you are staining first poly twice before sanding so you don't sand through and remove stain , other wise I like to do at least a light sand between each coat.

    Wildly newby questions!!

I know where that is, We used to go out that way when we went fishing out in Braidwood many moons ago.. And I only asked about you saws, 'cause your signature said not to! ;-) Most of my adult life I've been cutting trees for firewood for personal use, way too much work for me to do it for...

    Wildly newby questions!!

OP here. Thanks with the good luck... I agree with hearing big mills cut it to 2x4 and it shrinks to size. We have a little lumber yard here in town, not a giant selection but their lumber is always better than those box stores, I get my materials there when I can. And this will be more of a...

New guy, looking for a small bandsaw sawmill

So I found the video on the unit looks good, and yes the price is $3195 which is WAY at the top of my possible price point, trying to figure what shipping would be. Guess I'll have to call. The unit looks very similar to the Woodland mills WM126 unit. A little bigger engine and a couple hundred...

    Wildly newby questions!!

And another question.. how soon after you fell a tree do you saw it up? Right away, or do you wait a few days, weeks, months??

    Wildly newby questions!!

Yeah, $6500 is over double the budget. I've got a decent planer, just not wanting to plane everything I cut, and are you going to whine about my multiple post every time you come on???
