    Nik's Poulan Thread

That is a nice saw, light and strong running. Biggest problem is the wrist pin and the way you have to mount the needle bearings. If I get some extra time I'll look into finding a better way to make the change. I have been told that there is more than one way to change a poulan. Think it's skin...

    Withdrawn Poulan 7700 wanted

Not much between the two. Foam covering on the handle is different. 4900 is a ribbed rubber and the 7700 is a soft foam. Air filter is different As is the cylinder cover. The crankshaft is bigger on the clutch end where it screws on from 7/16 to 1/2 for the 7700. Both are 77cc.

    Withdrawn Poulan 7700 wanted

I have removed all the insulation from the ceiling and found more mouse turds than I thought possible. Remember it was a craw space and sorta open to the outside. I had to make a filter fan to keep the air clean. It is a wooden box with a big fan pointing down and 4 furnace filters one on each...

    Withdrawn Poulan 7700 wanted

I just realized that i haven't said anything about the 7700 that found me. It was found with several saws in a group buy and i zoomed in on the picture and saw the sticker on the starter. I immediately sent a PM to the owner and said it i would like to buy it if it became available. We came to...

    Nik's Poulan Thread

You should be able to, just remember to wipe a little oil on the inside where the shaft goes in.keep the outside very clean and dry. See if you can find a deep socket about the same size as the hole to tap on. Doesn't take much to tap them in. Keep them going In straight as you can. Slow and...

I'm going to hold off on getting any more saws for a while. Unless a good one comes up, can't say what it would be but I would know it when I see it.

I need some advice and help. If you port a engine and you have the skirt of the piston short enough that it opens the cylinder, exhaust port ,when it is all the way to the top, TDC by about 25 thousands will it still run. 5200 reed valve.

    Swapping chain bars?

Well I found 3 big trees just off the road 18" and another 3 about 2 miles from them. Also some smaller ones 6" here and there. Going to go back soon and get some of the ones that are the easiest to get. Going to get my permit this week.

Garden trailer, I made 2 of the trailers to go with both of the kingquads, lol . The 4 cord permit is the smallest that you can get, 25.00 for the permit. Back when i was cutting all summer i could get the 4 , now I don't think I will get half of it. Going to scout today. Finding standing dead...

Only way to know how to go forward is get the bore measured. Then you can make a decision on it's future. 4000=1.937 thin ring 3700=1.875 thin ring 3400=1.812 thick ring.

    McCulloch Chain Saws

My encounter with the bench grinder was a wake up and think before you do it. Took about 10 weeks to get back to doing well. My thoughts are with you.
