    Moss on interior live oak...verdict?

We’ve been keeping our eyes peeled for a 7” chipper, either a towable or tractor pto driven. We have a Troy bilt chipper with a 7 or 8 horse b&s on it. That little machine definitely requires some patience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Big Live Oak Leaning

Haha, I’m confused... What I meant to ask was best time of year to have the arborist out. Want to have them come out when it makes sense. I haven’t a clue about bugs, but that raises a question in my head... Does cutting smaller oak for firewood endanger the trees around it as far as pest...

There must be a decent worm population based on the quantity of moles we have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Moss on interior live oak...verdict?

I read the article. What about native shrub species that fall inside the drip line. They evolved together with the oaks right? I’ve been doing a lot of thinning of small trees and suckers in densely wooded areas to help the healthier trees, but I leave a lot of shrubs and ground level plants so...

This is the moss: I started another thread about the angle of this tree, if you have a second and can look at it. It’s in the homeowner help forum. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Big Live Oak Leaning

I’m fortunate to have hundreds of big live oaks, amongst other species on my property. The one right in front of my house, one of the most important location wise, is leaned to one side. It has been for years though. It was this way when we moved here three years ago and I haven’t noticed any...

    Makita dcs6401 rebuild questions

Never asked about engine tuning or chain sharpening. Reading the post and answering the question I asked is more helpful. Anyway, the horse is dead. I found the parts I was looking for. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You’re right. She’s handled the ones at the orange box store, but they don’t have a way to try them out. I’m leaning towards the cs400 though. I just don’t feel comfortable with her working the 330t with such a short grip radius. I want to get her hands further apart for more control. I like the...

    Makita dcs6401 rebuild questions

Not to be a smart ass, but a couple times per hour is every 30 minutes...which is about the frequency I refuel. Fuel efficiency is different in California than most places. We’ve so much extra crap added to our fuels for whatever reasons the liberals have here. I can’t get pump gas that isn’t at...

    Moss on interior live oak...verdict?

many of my live oaks have a lacy moss on the bark. By lacy I mean not the dense kind like on rocks, but 2” or so flowy stuff. I’ve read that it’s not bad for the tree, while some people go through the trouble of removing it. I was thinking that the only real damage it could do was retain...

The ms241c would be sweet at that weight, but they aren’t by any means inexpensive!

Those stihls are 11.5lbs for power head alone. Definitely on the heavy side.

    Are you guilty of this?

Good ol L31R vortecs! We had a 97 with half a million miles. I just swapped a new one into my 73 k20 with a Holley sniper EFI. Hopefully they haven’t changed the formula since then. Now if I could only find a 6l80e to put behind it, I’d be in business!

I think the 421 isn’t a current model anymore..? The husky 545 and dol 421 are both 10.8# for the power head. Am I better off pumping up the CS330-T and saving my money? Are there good mods that produce actual torque gains for these little dudes?
