What would be your choice for a Texas Chainsaw Massacre type scenario?

What kind of crap is this????

How many saws do you regularly use?

Yeah, that's what I said in the previous sentence. Nothing wrong with wanting to use them just because.

How many saws do you regularly use?

I can see a guy bringing two in case one breaks down or you get one hung up. I could be wrong, but I feel three or more is just because you want to run different saws, and there's nothing wrong with that. I just think in a normal firewood situation, two is plenty.

A slightly modded carburetor. Having second thoughts.

Okay.....I got it on the saw and fired it up. I can't get it to adjust out right. It will idle fine and rev up fine IF you slowly give it throttle. If you just hit the throttle, it will bog and want to die. If you slowly rev it, it will run at WOT, but after you close the throttle, it will idle...

    Maruyama MCV51 value

Seems to be a good price. Just a quick glance, it seems they're in the $390 - $400 range.

    Auto-Tune / M-Tronic

All of that will come with fuel injection if or when that comes. No offense, but all of the other mess y'all are talking about adding to them would only worsen the situation we're in now. The only thing I would like to see happen is the ability to plug it in yourself.

    Brand Opinion

I like them. I feel they're pretty good for the money. The ones I've had have been anyway. I had a "McCulloch" (yellow Poulan) and that was one reliable little sucker. If I had put a good bar & chain on it, I probably would have been even happier with it.

I found my dad's old Poulan

Yeah, I pulled one half off and looked inside. That was the first thing I noticed. It's a long fuel line for sure.

Need help choosing a new saw

I voted 590, but if the 450 and 490 are the only two you are considering, I'd go with the 490.

I found my dad's old Poulan

I can do that. It may be a few months, but I'll get to it.

I found my dad's old Poulan

    I will. Thank you sir.

I found my dad's old Poulan

    That's what I'm hoping for

I found my dad's old Poulan

Thank you. I hope to hear it going sometime in the near future. I was surprised at the condition as well. That's the way it came off the shelf. No dust removed. Lol

I found my dad's old Poulan

I ran across my dad's old Micro 25. I remember this thing from when I was a young 'un. I thought it was long gone, long ago. I was excited to find it! My mom won it in a drawing and my dad used it for years. After I get done with my other projects, I'm gonna see if I can't get this little booger...

    Auto-Tune / M-Tronic

I only have one and don't have a whole lot of time on it, but so far, so good. It runs great.

Can I flip the bar over?

As long as it has an oil passage on both sides of the bar, yes, you can flip it over.

Best pricing on a husqvarna 555 or 562xp

For me, the straight handle bar wraps up the deal. When I was buying one, the difference between the 555 and 2258 was $130. That was a no brainier, plus I got the straight handle bar. A win win for me. Speaking about the 2258, the differences between it and the 555 are the plastics. They won't...

Is there a better $400 59cc saw than an Echo CS-590?

I bought a 2258 Jonsered brand new for $400. It's just because they're closing the Jonsered line out though.
