This saw starts great, runs great, strong in the wood, and idles great. But, from idle, when you get back on the throttle it dies instantly. You’ve got to rapid pulse-trigger to catch it, get it going and rev it up. Man it’s annoying. What could it be?

The OEM coil completely failed and had to be replaced. No spark. I’ll look for an oem one over time.

This one has a coil that is impossible to find and expensive from the dealer, but I’m wondering if it’s a coil issue. I’m unsure how the coil and rev limiter are associated.

No, there is no choke flap on this one. I also pulled the air filter and it ran the same way.

I was thinking it was an electrical issue too, as I just recently put in a new coil after the original went bad. But that doesn't explain why it would run WOT without stuttering when under load.

I was able to adjust the carb some more and get it runnning like a top. Clean revs from idle. Idles well, and I kept the H valve on the rich side of neutral per the link I posted. Ran well all morning cutting 35” logs and limbing some new falls. Thanks all.
