Yeah I had a friend or my dad dripping oil on the the sprocket end. Get the whole family involved in this awesome hobby. Safely of course.

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Busted it out yesterday to buck up a big 30 inch poplar that fell on my neighbors lawn due to the storm we had in the northeast last week. He's an old guy so I offered to take the wood for my friend's fireplace. Ran the 32 inch bar with a cross cut chain and it made short work of all 30 inch...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Hey. Havent milled anything since the 10 slabs. They're slowly aging in the garage. My parents are at the cabin and with this whole crazy covid bs (I'm 32 and not at all scared of getting it 4 of my friends had it and are fine) I'm avoiding going up there. And on the project list for when I...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Will do. Want to mill a hemlock next. That will be easier to chew through. But now I need to build some covered storage behind the garage. We built it last year and it's already crammed. Knew I should have gone 32x32 instead of 24x24

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Impressed. Pulls the 42 inch chain well. 10 slabs, and 2 top cuts so far. I believe ive ran 2.5 gallons of gas through it already. It uses about a tank per cut (28 inches+ wide, 9 feet long) , which is a bit much in my opinion, but I've never run a 90cc saw before. Nor do I care honestly...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Why stop at 4 slabs? Got the 42 inch bar and the extension mill rails and milled 6 more slabs for a total of 10! Hit some rot on the bottom section of the trunk, 2 of 5 slabs affected but I can work around it. I think I found a new hobby... Had a few extra hands this time do was able to do 6...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Nice! My house layout isnt conducive to a bar. So I want to make a table, and maybe a mantle for the fireplace. Or maybe I'll just demo my basement and build a bar like I should... Likely an Oregon powercut like I've gotten in a 24 and a 32. 91 bucks on amazon. These are the 4 slabs I...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Thanks. Want to make a slab table for our house in the burbs. Been watching a lot of YouTube videos on them. Need to accumulate a few more tools. I'll have the table top slabs jointed and planed at a shop though. Dont want to risk using a router sled and messing it up Might make a pine...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

Great idea! I very well might. Went back down today with the tractor to take the two widest slabs out. Got them stacked in my garage, and strapped them together to prevent warping. Threw a bunch of stuff on top for weight too. What an experience! I still have the bottom half of the tree...

Alaskan Mill... Bar length for 562 XP

First day of actually milling! The 066 clone ran well, but wow does it drink the gas. Let's see how long it lasts. Since I'm milling the tree where it fell I'm using the 562 to finish the last 6 inches of the cut, and then to slice off the board. Got 4 slabs cut, my mill at its widest setting...

We'll see how it goes. I'm just really excited to flip over my first slab and make a dining room table with it. This YouTube video is exactly my problem. No faulty vent because the fuel doesnt hiss when I unscrew it. The comments in the video are all over the spectrum. They guy in one...

    FarmerTec Holzfforma G660 Purple Monster

Correct. I'm glad you we're able to build a quality setup for 400$ and X hours of your time ($?). I hope it mills miles of boards. I don't have the luxury of time or determination to scour the web. I want to head to the cabin, and get to milling. I only got 6 feet into my first ever top cut...

You know the answer. It's a quick easy solution to a complicated problem of milling with a 90cc saw. I'm gonna go through it and make sure mr Chong tightened everything and nothing is missing. Then I'm gonna pound on it milling a huge red oak. If it explodes on me I'll return it on amazon...

I have one coming for use on a milling project I'm hoping it works out just fine. I will run it hard milling some slabs out of a 30" red oak that's been drying for 2 years. I have a gut feeling I'll end up getting a 395xp anyway, but I figured this was worth the try at 1/3rd the cost.

    Arm capacity for logs

I have a NH (LS) workmaster 35. Weighs about 5500 with loaded rears. I wouldn't trust it to lift logs with the FEL. I have used the 3 pt to lift logs with a skidding tong and skid them out to a better worksite. As long as the traction is there it'll lift and pull it. Mine can handle a 28"...
