    Chainsawr

Thanks for the replies. I’m not averse to paying return shipping if it was my fault, hell even if it wasn’t my fault. Not sure if it was at this point since he won’t get back to me. I have a pretty busy schedule with kids and work, not to mention the time zone difference with Colorado and...

    Chainsawr

Has anyone had issues working with this company? I ordered some items for an old saw I’m working on. Most of them didn’t work or were wrong and I have had no email response from them... pretty frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No problem. I found the OEM seals and o-ring on Baileys. Worked out since I had something to order from them anyway. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Thanks for the part numbers. I’ve had one husky dealer and one small engine place think I’m nuts. The new flywheel is a husky OEM. I think it’s a 501 part number. They guy had 5 of em for sale on eBay for 14.00 ea Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ll have to get these online. We don’t have any good husky dealers near us. Pretty much live in BFE. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Copy. I’m in a town with a Husky dealer I’ll see if they have some. As for the flywheel. I don’t care if this saw has the correct part numbers. Just that things work right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haven’t been able to find crank seals. Chainsawr is sold out. Haven’t looked too hard though. The ones in there seem to be fine. Not sure how to tell exactly. They are still soft. This saw was serviced, purged and put away. The carb looks rebuilt and a new plug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah it does. I ordered one for a 162 off eBay. Seller offers returns. Should still for right? Mine seems to be a 1978 model if the numbers are correct on the data plate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I made some good progress today: Got the flywheel off. Ordered new stud, muffler support, front AV mounts, flywheel and found a NOS outside felling dog. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Looks like this has the incorrect flywheel. Probably what caused the damage. I’ll order one with the correct part number unless someone says otherwise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Autumn blaze maple has dead branches at the top. Is this normal?

The black spots look like tar spot. Very common on maple. Not the main issue though. Do you use a weed and feed in the lawn? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your guess is a good as mine. It’s a 14 or 15mm I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I’m thinking this will turn into a build thread. Mods, do we have a section in the saw forum for that? Update: got the exhaust stud out of the cylinder. Cheapo craftsman extractor set for the win. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Here is a photo of the chewed up flywheel. And what’s left of the shroud. Not sure how that happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the replies. Brought the saw home today and started tearing in and found a few of issues. First was this thing leaks fuel, bad. Seems to be coming from between the crankcase and the fuel tank. Bad fuel tank? No noticeable cracks. Hoses look fine. Second, flywheel is all chewed up...

Saw that. About $80 or so. Might need to go that direction if a little more carb tuning doesn’t clear up the issue. Don’t want to just throw money at it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Actually haven't cut since the muffler mod. But it seemed to run a little better when I ran it after. Will be cutting again in a few weeks. Pulls ok, but a little slower with the 24" in dead spruce. Hoping the MM wakes it up a little. Was experiencing some mild surging when making long cuts...
