    Kobalt/Greenworks 80v equipment review thread

I have a greenworks 40v pole saw thats a few years old and added a blower and vacuum. The pole saw was purchased for clearing lanes on hunting properties mainly due to cost. The blower and vacuum were very reasonably priced as tools only and are great for use at these properties also. The 40v...

Chainsaw oil leak when in storage, Husqvarna 240. How to stop it?!

I store my Husky & Jonsered horizontally on the 'bar side'. (ie: oil/fuel caps up) No oil on the top they are stored on, but my case gets filled when I transport them upright. Probably should open both caps before I put them up.

Stihl hard hat/face shield. Repair or go with less expensive new options?

I have the Husky and it's been fine. It was a second purchase after a less expensive one from Amazon that didn't survive the use and minor abuse. I believe an earmuff broke at the attachment point and the face screen isn't nearly as fine. So I saved money ($20?) on the first one only to spend...

    Husqvarna 435

No expert, but I do have a 435 that had the same issue. It would fire for a second or two and then die. After a little research I found that it could be the ignition module. I replaced it last fall and it's been running excellent since. It also eliminated its hot start issue. Mine is a 435 e...

Please Help! Husqvarna 435 wont start

I recently replaced the ignition coil on my 3 year old 435 refurb and got it up and running. Mine was hard to start when hot and then wouldn’t start at all. Did some reading here and gave it a try. Make sure you get the right pn, as there are a few for the different 435’s.

Best budget 16" saw for around the house?

I bought a factory reconditioned Husky 435 (41cc) saw from CPO Outlets for $160 a few months ago. I had to tune the carb when I got it, but it's been great. Leaves you a few bucks for a new chain some pre-mix and bar oil.

    Husqvarna 435 factory refurb q’s

Ok, had a little time to read a bunch of threads, including recommendations above, and do a little tinkering. I decided to baseline the carb back to factory settings, according to the shop manual. So I lightly bottomed out the H & L and then backed out the H 2 turns and the L 2.5 turns. Fired...

    Axe restoration thread

Here's an old craftsman axe (rehung) I got from my wifes grandfather along with the sheath that's still in progress: And a couple of hatchets I haven't done anything with. These were my grandfather's. He was a shoemaker and passed in 1972.

    Axe restoration thread

This thread has fueled my OCD. I had a fiberglass axe that I got for an xmas gift years ago that spent more time on the woodpile outside than in. The epoxy finally gave up and from there I've acquired 2 other vintage axes, 2 vintage hatchets, and bought a Hults Bruk Tarnaby. The original axe...

    Husqvarna 435 factory refurb q’s

I believe the saw was manufactured in '17 from the tag, but I'll have to look to confirm. The 'revs increased and then started to fall off' was when I was making it richer (adj H), not while I was cutting. Brazos - I wasn't expecting a race saw, but I thought it would have fallen between my...

    Husqvarna 435 factory refurb q’s

No compression test yet, just a field test as I said above. I also stated above that I tuned the carb and that I ran the H (high) out about a full turn (richened it up). It has splined caps that take a special tool, which I have and used adjusting the carb. 50:1 premix (94 octane, I believe)...

    Husqvarna 435 factory refurb q’s

Rec’d the saw Friday from CPO. Read that these saws are prettty powerful for their size. I was looking for a smaller, lightweight, limbing saw. Got it fired up and tuned the carb. Here’s what I’ve found so far. Doesn’t have the power I was expecting. It was bogging in the cut on some small...

    Odd Hatchet

I ended up mounting the TT axe in my '94 Land Cruiser with Quick Fist clamps, but wanted a cover for the edge. I also recently bought a Hults Bruk Tarnaby Hatchet, and copied that cover. Need to cut a lace, glue, stitch, finish the edges, and stain. Still thinking about doing some tooling...

    Odd Hatchet

The pexto is pretty cool. I have no idea how someone did what they did to the handle :( I don't have a real use for it right now, so I'll probably leave it as is for now. Looking forward to swinging the TT and Craftsman axes in the near future.

    Odd Hatchet

It definitely looks like a production piece, but no markings. I think I'm more fired up that no one knows what it is! Anyway, here's a pick of the TT Flint Edge rehung on a Council Tool 36" handle and a Craftsman head on a 28" Hickory Boys Axe handle. Both edges still need work and both have...

    Odd Hatchet

Yeah, it's odd. The pick looks similar to my Martin body hammer/pick, but again, when google can't replicate it, wow??? Here's a few more pics. I picked these up from my dad, and they were his dad's. I soaked the True Temper Flint Edge in Evaporust for a few days. You can see the color...

    Odd Hatchet

Hello! This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while. Got excellent information on rehandling a few axes, picked up a new maul, and got some old hatchets from my father, who got a few from his father. Anyway, one of the hatchets he gave me, he said was my grandfather's. He passed...
