    lets see them motorcycles

There is a write up from an English motorcycle group addressing the higher ratio of motorcycle to car accidents called "How close is too close" by Motorcycle Action Group (MAC). A PDF that is FREE to repost if MAC is acknowledge. When I started using the recommended techniques of using my whole...

    Question about chainsaw usage

A sharp saw will be easier on your back whether you are standing, squatting, or kneeling. I ran a file over my chain several times per tank with the the last 25"+ trunk I cut up.

    Question about chainsaw usage

Yes, when I first started cutting I dulled my chain in almost three cuts due to the amount of dirt on the log. Stay away from the dirt on the ground and any dirt in the bark. Carry a hatchet to chop a notch through the bark that contains dirt. Also, metal debris will dull your blade in a snap.

Root Grapple vs. Root Rake Grapple

I got this style from express steel and love it. There was a learning curve with the upturned teeth. Here is a shot with about a 25" oak.

    Log Splitter----ReDo

The one I built was from the remnants of an heirloom my dad cobbled together (with me) in the late '70's, so it had a lot of sentimental value to me. I needed a lift and something for larger rounds that might not fit on a lift and tailored it to my height. My labor and welding cost me nothing...

    Log Splitter----ReDo

[Lost post where did it go/come from] I think you will find a general retail splitter that will suit you just fine. Spend some quiet time on YouTube and watch any model you are interested in to help decide before buying. Whether you want a push through design with a 'generally' thin wedge or a...

What the different between $400 Meteor cylinder and a $160 Meteor cylinder

Not necessarily there, I've been of the opinion that some items appear salted to make the deal seem better. But, there could also be tolerance, honing, casting differences "if" it is sold by the same seller.

Post pictures of your woodpile/splitting area

Well I'm glad you did, please don't leave. I have several wedges for when I can't buy gas anymore, your picture reminds me why I hold on to them, especially since you say there is no need for swinging very hard as my health is deteriorating. It sounds like you lost your Morgan? I too love dogs...

    Buying a Wood Splitter?

I went for the "combo". No drinks and fries, just a mini-me. Both seem to work very well for my skill set.

    Buying a Wood Splitter?

Well my health has gotten worse and I finally picked one up. I should have done it earlier but I didn't know they even existed till not long ago. I would recommend one to everyone.

    Screwed by ebay

I avoid Ebay due to the design of the review system. It seems most of the reviews are not specific to the item sold in the queue.

    Buying a Wood Splitter?

I would use a light bulb under a tarp to warm the engine and oil reservoir. With the proper oil, it should start. But you must reach a certain rpm for the engine to start and get spark. Another problem can be the control valve is not in the center or neutral and it would cause the engine to spin...

Yes, according to my/our CC terms, we loose any protection if/when the bill is paid in full.

Don't buy from Green Dade Outdoor!

This is one reason I take a screenshot of everyonline purchase I make, but if you pay your card off monthly it won't help. Generally, a YELP review of your experience will help get the word out.

    Buying a Wood Splitter?

I wonder if that wine noise is coupling noise? If it is, a tiny squirt of wd40 should eliminate it.

    Buying a Wood Splitter?

My two splitters have wedges with ground edges. I put those sharp edges on them to help cut any rounds or fibers that would otherwise tear or shear apart.
