    Large pine removal advice

You know what— I think it just hit me why it wasn’t working I was on spikes the whole time. I’m always on my spikes and that climbing line is on my saddle and it’s never tensioned cause I’m only ever setting on that line to take a break. So I gaff up a couple steps, neuturalize my flip line and...

    Large pine removal advice

You know what- I just found a pic of what I did that I forgot I had. So— I ended up ditching the swivel snap and just putting my prussik right to the blue caribener onto the pulley and we played with that ***** for 30 min and it just kept fouling up? My rig there is a little sloppy but I think...

Fake Blake I swear to god it took me 2 min’s to stop laughing!!! That crakes me up!!! Ok so- how it’s drawn is exactly how I did it so I must have just done something stupid so I’ll just have to try and rerig that again. I super appreciate the pic though!!!!!! I had my father in law with me...

    Large pine removal advice

Yeah I don’t really know how you can make that statement? I have slightly over 600 bones in gear? I guess you haven’t had any recent estimates here in northern Virginia but I have 5 of these trees to take down and there all minimum 60ft- I honestly didn’t get estimates cause some guys I work...

    Large pine removal advice

Yeah I know- when I started here for help I had gear and original plan was traditional drt. However- I changed to split tail which was another order from wespur and I’m in virginia. Changed my mechanical on my flip line to a hip prussik so I have a 2 n 1- another order. All the changes have...

    Large pine removal advice

Alright no problem- I’ll order a helmet- I don’t disagree- and I’ll try the prussik again I think I know what I did wrong I didn’t capture my climbing line and tail within the caribener clip and the prussik kept spinning the pulley backwards and fouling everything up. As far as the Blake’s goes...

See how the micro is way below my Blake’s? I tried using a prussik to the working line and it kept twisting/fouling up the pulley and it just wasn’t working that way so???

I now have a pole just going to pull it down tomorrow. The climbing line is amazing but my micro pulley rig sucks!! It falls below my saddle rings so I have to pull up super high on every time I tend the slack. I have it setup just as the tree climbers companion example but I don’t like it at all

nice- I was waiting to see how long before a PPE comment was made!! I have about 5 of these tree’s to do- after that this gear probably packed away in a box so hard to buy that stuff but I get it- pretty dumb to be up there without one- also- I can totally see why most use a top bar saw my 180c...

    Large pine removal advice

Ok fella's- Sorry for the break but I took some serious time to reevaluate the plans and make gear changes. I've changed my climbing line to utilize a split tail and also got rid of my mechanical adjuster on my flipline and changed over to a hip prussic so I can use my flipline tail as a 2 in 1...

    Large pine removal advice

Hey boss- Man i appreciate the rigging advice but that's not my focus right now unfortunately. Since you mentioned that portion of the job I did maybe go a little overboard and picked up a negative block rigging kit from WESPUR for when that time comes. Sounds like maybe you can help me actually...

    Large pine removal advice

No offense taken- seriously!!! I'm here to learn!!! The field unfortunately is off limits- The tree's have to be chunked down from the top. I really am starting to believe this is a job that not a lot of people have encountered but no less the process of evaluation stays the same to me and it...
