Chainsaw as a gift, looking for thoughts on two models

I am not smart enough to comment on the saw choices, but I know more than a few folks including myself (admittedly long ago) who bought new saws from a local Stihl dealer who was happy to swap bar, sprocket and chain to make a .325 saw into a 3/8" saw for very little $ in the grand scheme of things.

I could maybe see a vertical shaft set up being an interesting way to homebrew a sawmill, but my head is still spinning on a horizontal shaft version unless it's some sort of chop saw? Hmmm. Wonder how a big a bar you could run with a 350 Chevy? ;-) Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Video of The dullest chainsaw you ever seen . Utterly amazing video.

I am no pro...just a guy with treed property and a couple saws, but I think I've seen duller. Bar was blue from heat along bottom edge when he was done and the end of the log...

I comprehended the sarcasm for sure. I just didn't comprehend the specific meaning of the phrase used and am very curious! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Ok.... I can infer the meaning of "stump a bean" from how it was used, but..... what does "stump a bean" mean? Worst case I can get one of my Aussie coworkers to try to translate. :-) Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    Strunk Electric Chainsaw

It's a pretty rare house that has breakers/fuses bigger than 20a on a 110v circuit. I've only seen 30a/110v breakers and the larger wire needed for that a few times....usually for someone who wanted provisions to plug in an RV with A/C.

    08-S Bar questions

Ugggh. Mistake on my part. I'd just been talking about chain pitch with a co-worker and gapped out. I meant 3/8"/ 0.063. Sorry!

    08-S Bar questions

Hey all, Forgive the silly questions but I'm learning here. I have an 08S powerhead that I got from my now deceased great-uncle about 20 years ago and it was an old saw at that time!! When I got it, it had a bar and chain, but I disassembled it to clean it up, then I moved a couple times and...
