    Tree ID help please

Found in north Georgia. An adjacent tree blew over and took this one with it. It is relatively light compared to oak of the same size and splits with very little effort. Thank you.

Is this Armillaria Mellea? And what do I do about it?

Line heads north from the back of the house and down the hill to the field

Is this Armillaria Mellea? And what do I do about it?

It is the house. And it is a rather steep slope, the contour lines in the image below are at 10'. If it has to come down, it will come down. But if its not in danger of keeling over soon or can be made healthy at a reasonable cost I'd like to keep it.

Is this Armillaria Mellea? And what do I do about it?

Thanks everyone for the replies. I've reached out to a local arborist via email, but have not heard back yet. If anyone has a reference in the Dahlonega GA area please let me know.

Is this Armillaria Mellea? And what do I do about it?

The photos are of an oak that is very close to the house. It has been raining the last few days so I haven't been out there much, but I do know there were no mushrooms on Saturday and I don't recall ever seeing any similar before that here or nearby. We purchased the house in June so I don't...

    Can this tree be saved?

Thanks - Added to the list of this weekend's chores. Is there any harm in spraying glyphosate to kill the grass or should I remove it the hard way?

    Can this tree be saved?

I will do some investigation and get some better photos this weekend. It wouldn't surprise me if the bands you see in the photos are past damage from the bush hog. I have reason to believe the people the previous owner hired to maintain the property had questionable skill and intelligence.

    Can this tree be saved?

My wife and I purchased this property in June of this year. I have not touched this tree with a tool of any kind. I will clear around the base a bit and get some better photos. I don't typically get home with enough daylight to tale pictures, so please bear with me on gathering intel. Is it...

    Large Oak - Hung Up

The previous owners built it so I dont have much information, but I am happy to answer, to the best of my ability, any questions you have.

    Can this tree be saved?

The brown leaves are the symptom that drew my attention. If the brown leaves and holes are not significant what else should I be concerned with? Is there anything to be gained health wise by treating the maple anthracnose, or it is mainly an aesthetic issue?

    Large Oak - Hung Up

I'll take some photos this evening if it's not too dark or raining when I get home.

    Large Oak - Hung Up

As suggested we took our time and methodically worked through the mess. Turning the trees into firewood and wood chips now. Thanks again for your comments.

    Can this tree be saved?

This tree has declined significantly in the last two months. Is whatever is making the holes in the trunk responsible? What do I need to do to bring this tree back to good health?

    Large Oak - Hung Up

I did some poking around this evening and decided to do some cutting. With my wife spotting I was able to drop the trees supporting the limb furthest up hill and used my tractor to pull them out of the tress they were hung up on. The large oak dropped a few feet but the trees holding the other...
