I see what you mean but I've had plenty go bad with old age or like del says dirt. It sits in there and wears the shaft and seal out.

Well save that one and get a new seal from a bearing supply place. I have eastern automation near me which used to be eastern bearing. They're great can get anything you need based on measurements or part numbers

Tractor wouldn't be a bad idea but then you're limited to needing the tractor for splitting. Tractor goes down so do production

Man that's a big mf tree for city. If stuck on roping down that's gonna be like 5ft maybe 6ft chunks. Can you block the drop area and just flip chunks down
