Thanks for the help everyone. Am I jumping the gun getting the Unicender or ZigZag Plus. Should I use a hitch instead? All I have now is (2) adjustable lanyards, a petzl ID, (2) micro pulleys, Petzl Left hand ascender, and CT right foot ascender. I keep hearing that any cammed tooth ascender...

Oregon 72JGX/092G - Bad Factory Grind

UPDATE!!! Oregon got back to me after I sent the loops in. Apparently, the distributor or retail shop added square ground chain to my loops, it was not done at factory!

Nothin about special order anywhere on the ticket. I'm calling Stihl to force a return on the mix oil. I just looked up my account (I have a net 60 revolving account), they charged one of my guys $23.09 + tax for a gallon of the water they call Woodcutter Bar Oil, Stihl says the Dealer Suggested...

Had a fall out with my dealer/repair shop

Any recommendations for a Stihl Dealer in Northern NJ or Southern NY? I do a decent amount of business and I'm sick of getting robbed in trade for my convenience of being 5 mins away. I was basically doubled charged DSRP on (2) cases of Stihl oil and they wont let me return it after I looked at...

Weaver Cougar Saddle - Rope Bridge, No Ring?

Thanks for the info! I will order a replacement to have on hand, thats a good idea. While I got ya here, let me ask... The leg straps are squishing the ole twig and berries when i'm on rope, i'd like to have babies one day, should my leg straps be lower, tightening will only slow blood to my...

Weaver Cougar Saddle - Rope Bridge, No Ring?

I've read a few horror stories of failure of the web bridge, I was initially timid but I've been building confidence staying low and learning how different systems work.

Weaver Cougar Saddle - Rope Bridge, No Ring?

So I picked up a new saddle, a Weaver Cougar. I noticed it doesn't have a ring on the rope/web bridge. Can I clip a rigging plate with a beaner directly to the web rope bridge? Can I install a ring to clip into?

Pole Gaffs or Tree Gaffs for the novice???

Just an update, I ended up getting a free pair of Climbright Aluminum Pole Spurs from a friend, I purchased a pair of Big Buck Pads and just like that I'm going up now. So far so good I guess, I really don't know any better. I did notice I was gaffing out a lot around the thick vines, maybe tree...

Oregon says they are sending (2) new loops out to me and want me to send the old loops back for eval. Was hoping for a new bench grinder, but ill have to settle on getting exactly what i payed for, 2...

Oregon 72JGX/092G - Bad Factory Grind

So I ordered a few loops of 72JGX/092G (28" .050 - 3/8 - 92DL) in full skip from Oregon. This is what they send, 6 consecutive cutters on each loop with bad grinds! These pictures are from brand new, right out of the box Oregon chain. Called and complained and they said they"would look into it"...

Pole Gaffs or Tree Gaffs for the novice???

Hello everyone! So i plan on leaving the ground soon and start climbing with gaffs (oldschool i guess). My question is Pole or Tree Gaffs. I work in Northern New Jersey and Southern New York, so its a lot of Maples, Poplar, Tulip, Cottonwood, Pines, Oak and Black Spruce. Im a little confused on...

Do I fall these together or separately?

Thanks for the advice guys. I included another picture because the first one was not showing the ground/stump. As you can see, big rock and a pile of stacked brush 8ft tall! on Jeff Gu's drawing cut number 1 is about 10ft off the ground, any suggestions without spurs?
