    Hard Cover for a Splitter

I don't have a complete hard cover, but, i did cover the motor. I came up with a big nursery tree container,(tree pot) its made out of pretty good quality plastic, and it completely covers the motor, then i put a large plastic bag over the whole thing, its one that covers a full pallet of wood...

What’s your favorite mid sized saw?

Oh boy, that's a tough one, i like them all! But, have had the same 026 for about 30 yrs now, liked it so much i found another one, and bought it. BUT, i picked up a 261, and its a cuttin son of a gun. I really like that saw, its a dandy! Then, the husky 266's are great saws as well, for as old...

Rain... How wet is too wet for a saws?

I know of some county road crews in PNW who never put their saws under cover when going from job to job. They are either in the back of the pickup or on the running board of a dump truck kept in place with a bunji cord. Totally out in the weather, in the rain, even though they had a tool box...

    Revenge on Package Theives

I know of a guy who used Fox urine to get back at a jerk one time. He used a hypodermic needle to inject it into the car though the window seal. About 3 wks later, the guy sold the car!! I've got 2 bottles of fox urine, bad, bad stuff, its sealed with a large wax seal on the lid. You don't mess...

Want to Buy STIHL COMBINATION FUEL CAN!

The ''husky'' jug is a great one! You'll never be sorry you got one. They are on the big side though, but, hold enough gas/oil for a full day's work, plus have a small tool carrying area as well. Spill proof nozzle on the gas end of it, and a good pour spout for oil, very well made and heavy duty.

Any baby boomers still heat with wood?

Born in 47 you bet i still use wood for heat 100%. Started out by me laying behind my grand dad's big stove when i was a kid, lol. Then when my folks got their own house i was introduced to a wood pile. Dad would have a truck load of ''lilly pads'' or trimmed butts delivered and it was my job to...

Smaller blower tube for Stihl BR 700

I might have asked this question before on this site, does anyone have a stihl part number for a smaller blower tube for BR700 leaf blower? I think it was one that also fit the 450 blower but, i'm not sure, i'd like to neck it down to about the size of the BR600 , thanks

    New BR 700 Stihl

Well i put it off long enough, did some research, my old blower has bit the dust for now. So, i tested 2 blowers today, the BR600 and the BR700 Stihl. Both are really good blowers, the 600, i've used it a bunch, it'll cut through heavy leaves pretty good, but you have to use more arm movement to...

My take on power log splitters on the market today.

If they are big rounds, i just take my saw, make a X on the face of the cut, put a steel wedge into it, and give it a couple of whacks with my maul. Normally it'll split it in half, then i split the halves, to quarters. Put them on the splitter and finish the final splitting that way. To me...

    Ms193t keeps dying

There you go! Cleaned the muffler screen , my 193 was running a little rough, i cleaned the muffler screen, and bingo, away she went, in the process i accidentally kind of cleaned the screen a little too good, and opened up the holes in the screen a little more, not only does it run better now...

    Ready for storm damage?

When i worked for the country road dept, my boss would call me to meet him at the shop, we had a tree down at such and such location. I'd ask if wanted to pick me up , at our house, my saw was ready to go, i had gas, oil, sharp chain on it, and i knew it ran and sawed good. Plus i had chaps and...

    Been robbed. Five saws stolen.

Put as much pressure as you can on the police to keep looking, and checking with other knows crooks, there's snitches out there that would turn their mothers in for a dime. You just have to find the right person who will roll over on the guy for the right money. Let anyone you know, there's a...

    Stihl 056 Magnum Build!!!

I had a really nice 056 about 25 yrs ago, we had a silver maple that was way too close to the back of the house. So, i'd come home from work, climb the tree, pull up the 056 and start lopping off limbs. Boy, that was a hunk of a saw!! But, got the tree down, never hit the house. Ended up selling...

Made up my mind on Husqvarna's.

I know i've changed my mind about Husky's as well. I've got several Stihls, and they are good saws, but, now i've got 2 , 266xp's and i really like them! One was really abused, but, the guy put a big bore kit on it, including a bigger carburetor, and this thing, ''sings''. Now, those old 266's...

    Got a new toy today!

I'm sure you've already discovered, they are SHARP! VERY , sharp. Its not a toy, its a serious tool. One thing i've noticed on the tv series ''Alone'' many of the contestants end up cutting themselves with a axe, or a knife. I've got several GB axes/ hatchets and they all have that common...
