New Husqvarna burned up using factory premix

I have a brand new Husqvarna 372 that I haven't tried to start yet. So I need to give it a vacuum test before I put gas in it? Check the high low adjustment to one and a half turns out? I mix my own gas, so 50:1 is okay with 10% etheanal gas? I bought this baby from eBay so I can't take it...

Sacks Dolmar 152 Ignition - coil

It would help if you posted a picture and part number to identify what you have and alternatives if it's unavailable.

Getting chains sharpened or buy new.

I used to sharpen my chains by hand, and they always cut better afterwards; but then I bought a Harbor Freight electric chain sharpener and once I got it set up, it was 10x faster and the chains I did came out as sharp as a new chain.

    Sachs Dolmar Chainsaws Thread

Sachs Dolmar/Makita Dolmar had the 95 cc engine called the 143.

    Sleezebay bay sellers

Oh, well. If it wasn't for eBay I couldn't have got my Sachs Dolmar 133 or my Makita Dolmar concrete saw running. I've been buying off eBay for 20 years with only a few problems that weren't worth wording about.

Makita, Hilti, and other 4" air filters aftermarket

Just got the inner filter from "The Russian Federation" via eBay and USPS. Fits perfectly under the WIX outside filter. This is a hobby!

Makita, Hilti, and other 4" air filters aftermarket

Yes, I saved my saw from the metal recyclers and my scrap collector friend. The Makita chop saw is in amazing good shape with great compression, only bad side was getting it running which cost me a $200 SEM GA ignition module. So how much would a 95cc chop saw cost new? I enjoy bringing old...

is it worth to invest on a crane?

I bought a Genie TMZ-34/20 at Capital Auctions in Vallejo, CA for around $7,000 15 years ago. It works good, but maybe you want a 60'er with 4wd. Being able to tow mine makes a big difference.

Makita, Hilti, and other 4" air filters aftermarket

Does your saw use a similar air filter to the one above? I have a Makita Dolmar concrete saw DCP 9501 manufactured in the 1990's and using the official parts manual it gave me a number for a filter that costs $26.00 and is almost obsolete on an internet search. I tried to find one using the...

    shop stove

I don't like the idea of burning dirty oil and having to smell it. And how much are you going to be able to use up to make it worth it? I burn some nasty wood sometimes but at least only the neighbors I don't like smell it.

How do I get.the flywheel off?? 371 xp

I work on a lot of small (6.5-3 hp) Honda engines and they don't have holes for a flywheel puller, so the trick is similar to tapping the crankshaft end with the nut flush. I would say "066blaster" was lucky the flywheel came off so easy (loose fit?) because on the Honda's you have to safely...

How do I get.the flywheel off?? 371 xp

Looks like you have to unscrew the pivots for the starter pawls, or at the worst, drill them out and tap for new ones. The puller goes on using the screw holes. Been there, done that.

    ATV purchase?

I have a Yamaha Rhino with all the performance upgrades. It is a blast to ride the forest trails but I don't see it collecting much wood. I have a 10 ft trailer but I don't want to burn up the belt hauling wood.

    Where To Buy Rental Saws

I just picked up a Hilti 700 concrete saw that was a rental from Home Depot. No compression. Aftermarket piston and jug kit (good quality, not China) for $40. Repair and sell for $500.

Brought 066 To The Shop Today - Do I Need To Turn In My Man Card?!?!?

There are very few people I trust to do mechanical work that I can do myself. The few times I have trusted someone else it has been done wrong.

Where do you draw the line?

The good news is that he has promised to introduce me to the dealer when he decides to quit. They have been friends for years and he has done a lot of favors for the dealer-- he not only takes his saws, but keeps the back clean and hauls out any debris or other non-running tools.

That would break his routine. He is 82 years old and is set in his wàys.

We All Have That One Saw........

I love my Sachs Dolmar 133 (85cc's). I saved that saw from the scrap heap and built it to like new. Now it starts right up and cuts wood like a hot knife through butter. It feels good in your hands. My other saw was a Poulan 40cc and all I use it for now is trimming branches. I am now...

Where do you draw the line?

You can't change his habits. He LIKES to take them apart and scrap them. I tell him i.e. the only thing wrong is they were run with straight gas and just need top end work and he could sell the Sthils for $3-400 apiece and he says "I don't do that", so I tell him I can do it and split profits...

Where do you draw the line?

I have a friend who picks up the local Sthil dealer's throwaways-- that includes any size saw that is or not worth fixing vs selling the customer a new one. I told my friend that I wanted any saw over 60cc's, but I can't get much cooperation from him. He is 82 years old and all he wants to do...
