Anyone looking to build a firewood processor.

I acquired a truck that has a lot of components that would be great for building a processor. The truck was a street sweeper. So it has a John Deere 4039d engine. I think that’s around 60-70hp. Has a good size hydraulic pump on the engine. Engine Also has a belt drive off the tail housing...

    Wood stove questions

I bought a King wood stove from Nothern Tool last year. It was on sale for $499. It’s undersized for my house but I have been very impressed with the heat output. I’m heating a very well insulated 2900 sqft two story. It heats another 1000 sqft in the basement where the stove is too. My...

    Couple wood stove questions

So I bought a wood stove from Northern tool this past fall. It’s been great and has far exceeded my expectations. Here’s my question there are two panels inside the stove that sit at an angle for a ceiling. These are a fireproof type of foam. The ones that come with the stove are very...

How much wood do you burn?

I have an 8’x20’ that burns 25-30 cords a year. This is my kiln. I run it all year. I heat it with a CB CL40. When it’s really cold I’ll load it full twice a day. My mom uses about 4 cords in her Quadrafire 7100 (I think that’s the model). I just put a wood stove in. I’m planning on 2...

Central Boiler Classic 5036 need tips/info

Yours has a fan? My CB just has a draft door. I would check into just having a draft door. I asked CB about the fan. They said it’s really only needed if you have long down times in between burn cycles or you want to burn more wood. Depending on your situation just having a draft door might...

Dirty Hand Tools splitter tank problem.

The ones I’ve had have run good and started super easy. They just vibrate their muffler and gas tanks off. The tanks tear at their mounting points. I put a lot of hours on the small engine. Splits a couple hundred cords every year. Scott

Dirty Hand Tools splitter tank problem.

ThOde Kohler engines vibrate like crazy. I’ve had a couple and they shake themselves to death. I would mount some rubber bushings under the engine to help once you fix it. Scott

    wood stove question

I I was thinking the same thing. I’m going to strip the wall and get rid of the double wall. In the store trying to piece it together it made sense. When did I got it home it didn’t work so well. No there is no clean out on the chimney. The clearance to the back says it has to be 12”. I...

    wood stove question

That’s my thought also. The wife said let’s just tear the wood down and do something different. I’m just not wanting that big of a project right now. Guess it can just be bare for this winter. Scott
