I ran a husky 65 bow for years and it pulled it fine but the 4000’s do just as good as the 65’s . But the 5200’s really make it go! I still will pick up a 4000 before the 5200’s most days.

I saw these two on marketplace about 20 minutes from my house so I had to go check them out in hopes that the 3700 would be a jewel under the dirty outside. I told myself I would not buy them if it was not really really nice. They were in good shape and both are runners had new chains on the...

I’ve never heard of that. I guess you have to cut trees that have already fallen or are diseased. That looks like hard work. It probably makes good memories with family or friends though. Gary

They seem to run in spurts for me also. I still am on the lookout for a 6900 and a 7700. I don’t think I’ve ever seen either one in person. What does a wood permit allow you to do?

I’ve got a couple of countervibes that need new handle grips. All my 4200’s have a thinner grip than my 5200’s . But my favorite grips are on my 4000’s. What are my options for grip replacements?

I found out an old friend of mine right up the road had a old Poulan. Today I stopped by to see what he had and he had just got it home from his mechanic. He has the bow that came on it originally also . He said he would call me when it gets too heavy for him to use. He’s 70 and in good shape so...

The 4000’s are my favorite saws to run. I don’t know if the bow saws came originally equipped with a spike or not. I have several with no spike and a couple with a spike. I do know I have converted a couple of bar saws to accommodate the bow and left the spike on them. I don’t think any of my...

I got this 5200 in the mail today thinking it would be a parts saw. But it looks to be seldom used and has great compression. I think I’ll have to get it going soon instead of taking it apart.Did Poulan also have a 4200 in the dayton brand?

Jethro, I don’t know that all 4000 clutch covers are plastic but out of the 8 I have the only one that’s metal is the one with the brake on it.

The only black tank 4000 I have has a black handle bar and black decals and a plastic clutch cover. The only 4000 I have with a metal clutch cover is one with a chain brake on it, all the rest are plastic. I have several 3700’sand 3400’s with the mag covers . You probably can’t go wrong at...

It’s not the counter Vibe series I love but it is the nicest 306 I’ve seen in person. It looks to have been used very little. It cranked and ran but had a carb leak so I shut it off .
