    Bearing orientation?

That's good to know thank you. I will look for steel caged bearings next time. I'm happy as long as these puppies are in the right way.

    Bearing orientation?

Yes, I'm am a little confused. Most of the examples I have seen are steel caged bearings so they look a little different. I have the writing on the bearing facing out. I hope that's correct.

    Bearing orientation?

First time betting into a bottom end. I got myself some shiny new bearings and got them installed without a problem. I now have this sinking feeling that the bearings are not oriented correctly in the case.

    266 power vs clutch

Wow I think 266 were probably common here in Vancouver island in there day but I very rarely see any for sale. I have seen a 266 that Donny worked on and its temping especially because I pass Walkers every day ;)

    266 power vs clutch

I knew the 266 had a strong following to this day. It's been on my shopping list for many years. I definitely realize I'm lucky to have found this example in such good condition. I have seen first had what Donny can do with a 266 and its impressive. That said, I definitely take your point that...

    266 power vs clutch

Thanks that's really useful info. This 266 is a 1983. I'm thinking of keeping the original top end and having Mr. Walker port it maybe open up the muffler.

    266 power vs clutch

Hey guys, I picked up this 266 last week. I always wanted one but now I have some questions. I hear the clutches on the 266 where not the best. Anyone know if the clutches handle increases in power? Are the moutnts on these old huskys the same as new large husky? I think I will need an...

    Top Handle Recommendation?

I have used it on a couple of cedar removals and agree with you. For branches its fantastic and taking the top out its good. When I’m chunking out the stem and get into cuts wider than 10 inches it really shows its low cc. So I’m switching to a midsize rear handle saw earlier with this little...

    Top Handle Recommendation?

I picked up a 2511 used it on a couple jobs and love it. Running the 3/8 chain and it does well. A couple times I thought I dropped it because I could not feel it when I let it hang on my saw lanyard. The light weght makes it a breeze. Very happy with it.

    Top Handle Recommendation?

Thanks Jim, having a saw as light as the 2511 would be a real plus and I agree with you about 3/8"

    Top Handle Recommendation?

Hey guys, I have been a ground guy for a while and the climbers I work with have started teaching me how to spur climb. I have got all my own equipment (including PPE) at this point except a climbing saw. I have been using 200T’s and like everyone find them excellent. I have also used some husky...

    Recommended A/M Top End?

Generally speaking I agree 2018 is early to go aftermarket. However, given the overall poor condition of the saw when it was straight gassed I stared looking for aftermarket components to keep the cost down. The saw was replaced my a new 562 right away so this 2018 is a back up. I have a...

I guess I'm looking for suggestions other than Amazon or e bay for aftermarket stuff.

    Recommended A/M Top End?

Trying to help a friend who straight gassed his 562 (2018 model year). I tried to bring the cylinder back but I'm not satisfied with the result so I'm looking for a piston and cylinder. What is your recommendation for an AM supplier of a piston and cylinder for a 562 that ships to Canada. Not...

Huztl FarmerTec What Saw Build Kit Would You Like to See Them Make?

Still lots of 2100's here on Vancouver Island. They were a popular saw in there day and still enjoy a good reputation. Guys that have them are proud of them and want to keep them going. A kit would be fantastic in and of its self but would really help the old ones keep going. I would like to...
