Help in deciding between Stihl MS 462 and 500i Chainsaw

It took over a year on a waiting list for me to get a 500i. I picked it up about a month ago. They had a few batches earlier on, but none where wrap models. Some of the "dealers" like Ace don't even carry the bigger stuff. I asked them about the 500i and I got "we don't have those... they...

Help in deciding between Stihl MS 462 and 500i Chainsaw

My main saw at the time, a 460, went down and I just had a 660 around. Used that to hand cut and limb for a day. My arms were hurting by supper time. The next morning, I about needed help to zip my pants and tie my boots, my arms were not happy! I'm sure with time would get used to it...

Help in deciding between Stihl MS 462 and 500i Chainsaw

Also on the newer Stihl saws, the wrap models have a better handle as well as I think clutch cover. I know for sure that was the case on the 362 I bought. The non wrap was a really cheesy plastic handle, small clutch cover, and a single felling dog. Where the wrap version is metal... or at...

    Bucket truck troubleshooting

I also mention this is a ~40 year old bucket. The truck is listed as an 81, so I'd imagine the lift is right around that age as well. I'd imagine that many features or safeties that are required on modern trucks don't exist on this one. On that note, I would assume in teh case of a hydraulic...

Maybe, but I have no idea where that would be at.

Truck has a new battery if that's what you mean. Otherwise, not sure what you are referring to.

    Banding machine for bundles?

I can't see much market for that in my area. I had tried selling Super Cedars along with orders as well as in my bundle wood bin when I was doing that. Figured it would be a good add on product. Thankfully I didn't go full hog and get a ton with my logo and everything. I just bought 1 box to...

    Bucket truck troubleshooting

Shouldn't they not all have to be fully out so the truck can be levelled out? My yard is sloped a bit, so I had one side out further than the other side to level the truck. No extreme slope, talking like maybe 6" in 10ft. I've never used a bucket truck before, so all new to me.

Where in Maine is it 90*?

Help in deciding between Stihl MS 462 and 500i Chainsaw

I've never put it on a scale, but the 500i with a wrap handle feels lighter than my 460 Arctic.

    Bucket truck troubleshooting

I think whatever switches it once had stopped functioning years ago. There's a light in the dash labelled "outriggers" that doesn't work either.

    Bucket truck troubleshooting

I bought a 1980s Ford F800 bucket truck for work around the property. I can't get the boom to work though! The PTO works, the outriggers work, but the lower controls and bucket controls do nothing. It looks to be some sort of air and electric controlled system?? I don't even know where to...

Redback 18", 120V Lithium, Cordless (Battery) Chainsaw - company out of business? Replacement parts?

Battery went bad after maybe 5 or 6 charges, we threw it out. New battery was more than it was worth.

    Circular saw mills

More dangerous, waste more wood, need a good operator to not burn the blade. Most I've seen make cants and those are sawn into lumber with a band mill. 1/8" kerf vs 1/4"

After 1 year Schneider is at around .50cpm. I actually recently hired on with them but they pulled the job out of under me.
