Oregon chain vs Woodland Pro (Carlton) vs Stihl

I run Oregon Lgx and stihl rapid cut. LGX seems to sharpen nicer and the RC last a hair longer between cuts.

    288 XP

Worlds above your other saw. I have a 288xp modded a good bit and it's nasty strong. Always grab a running 288 when the price is right, and that price is right.

    Husqvarna 390XP vs Stihl 460?

390xp is absolutely more saw then the 460. I believe the 390 mods better also

    Echo's New 70 cc Saw, CS-73x

Another rumor on they wind Tree crew in Maine is testing one, as per them it's running with the 572xp. Also, it's large husky bar mount.

    Echo's New 70 cc Saw, CS-73x

Current rumor on caught on the wind; "it's been tested for almost two years now, spins just shy of 14000 RPM and has lots of torque. Weight is under the 576xp so should be close to the 572 ." A 14000k torque saw, dam

    Ok ... Where's The 572xp???

Yeah I've seen this. The test in bigger wood seem to prefer the Husky, which with its longer stroke makes sense. In most of the vids they seem close enough that power is probably not a deciding factor. Without having both to play with I'd guess the Husky would be better if you are doing larger...

    Echo's New 70 cc Saw, CS-73x

My 620 came from a dealer, also a Stihl dealer. I ran my saw about 4 minutes and proceeded to dump the fuel, fuel with my 40:1 and pulled the caps. I've abused it to the hilt since. I'm not a huge fan of leaning on anyones warrenty and don't make purchases based on it. If the saw has a good...

    395xp disappointed

390 is more pleasant to use day to day but when power is needed the 395xp is best. For the majority of cutting the 390 will do, most save the 395 for milling or real long bars. As someone else said the 395 will beat out the 390 with longer bars, but I'd put it at 28+ not 24. Just my opinion

    Ok ... Where's The 572xp???

I wouldn't put much faith into rated HP numbers. Even if correct there are more aspects to engine performance then just HP. In the test I seen they performed similar.

    Hp of Pro Mac 700

Wow, and to think I was about to tell him to put LONGER BARS ON BOTH SAWS AND SEE WHICH ONE IS MORE POWERFUL. How far did someone have to dig to bring this one back to life?

    The stinky Echo thread

Really tough stuff green pole is. You can see the saw didn't even want to bite into it at first, but I was able to lean on it a bit. Even with poor chip clearing with this type of cut the echo pulled through it. Chips were completely jamed at the tip in the cut. Muffler mod still stock P&C.
